SITA Mission Control App for Real-Time Open Collaboration for Each Flight Demo Webinar [One Comms App for all key personnel per flight: pilots, OCC, dispatch, ramp, gate, maintenance, cabin crew; ACARS link to Aircraft Messages, OTP Optimization]

Register to view this On-Demand Webinar (recorded 2nd March 2023) to see a demo and overview of the industry’s first collaboration tool designed specifically to connect, in one app, all key personnel for each flight (pilots, OCC, dispatch, ramp, gate, maintenance, cabin crew, etc.) and provide real-time information and updates ensuring quick turnaround and maximizing on-time performance. During the Webinar SITA experts will show how common, existing communication channels can fall short in creating an open collaboration environment. This creates poor flow of information and instructions that can cause minor errors, mounting up to large delays at the end of the day’s operation. You will see how the SITA Mission Control App solves these issues and allows all duty personnel to easily manage each flight with clear visibility of real-time status through sharing information and instructions from a single platform to everyone involved in the flight. As well as manual entries such as ‘catering loading’ or ‘fuelling’ from ground crew, or ‘wheelchair requested’, additionally you will also see how the ACARS connection links updates from the aircraft to the App allowing all personnel to see live status such as delays in-flight, or holding time, or auto-updates on the ground such as ‘cargo door open’. Pilots and Cabin Crew can also use the App in-flight to alert OCC or maintenance of any potential issues which can be dealt with on arrival to reduce turnaround time or to alert ground crew to the expected fuel needed at turnaround. Built using the Microsoft Teams platform, you will see how all duty personnel can easily access the App via desktop or mobile devices using familiar software.

The Webinar begins with a look at the challenges airlines face using existing communication channels, and how one missed communication or update can cause knock-on effects, snowballing into large delays at the end of the day. In a recent EASA bulletin (EASA SIB No.: 2022-06), increased collaboration is stated as a key recommendation for airlines in improving operation efficiency and safety.  You will then see a full overview of the SITA Missions Control App outlining the key benefits, with a look at the latest developments, including the dedicated Turnaround Module.  Finally, you will see a full Mission Control demo.

The Webinar is divided into 4 key sections:

  • Challenges that duty personnel face – the overview and key benefits
First SITA experts will take you through trends and concerns the industry is facing surrounding communication during day of operations. In a constant struggle to stay ahead of the aircraft, communication needs to evolve into open collaboration, across all duty personnel. One missed communication or update can cause knock-on effects, snowballing into large delays at the end of the day.

  • Full overview of SITA Mission Control – The Key Benefits
Next you will see the key highlights and benefits of SITA Mission Control, taken from the point of view of the Operations Control Centre (OCC) and from duty personnel handling turnaround of the aircraft. You will see how a direct ACARS connection into SITA Mission Control enables duty personnel to anticipate challenges. For example, how an acknowledgement by the flight crew over ACARS immediately updates all on the ground, or how an automated OOOI update places resources at the ready on the ground, just in time.

  • Latest updates to SITA Mission Control  – The Turnaround Module
Next you will see a quick look at the new Turnaround Module. Designed to keep ground operations up to date with the turnaround process, it enables both automated and manual status updates. Simple manual starting and completion of task updates enable supervisors and dispatchers to have clear visibility of the movement of resources, allowing them the ability to maximize utilization of the aircraft.

  • SITA Mission Control Demo – The Superchat, OTP View and Turnaround Progress
Finally, you will see a full demo and walk-through of the various key features on SITA Mission Control that enable duty personnel to openly collaborate while, at the same time, minimizing stress and workload in trying to communicate instructions and updates to each other. All with the aim of maximizing your on-time performance.
