Real-Time Next-Gen Turbulence Analysis and Reporting App and Data Service for Pilots and Dispatch Demo Webinar

Register to view this On-Demand Webinar (recorded 19th January 2023) to see a demo of SkyPath, the innovative and unique real-time turbulence analysis, and reporting Apps, as used by airlines worldwide such as United, American Airlines, El Al and jetBlue. As you will see, SkyPath can be used immediately, requiring no aircraft installation or certification, and is available in stand-alone Apps for pilots, dispatch and management with real-time en-route turbulence reports visualised graphically, as well as PIREPs, and important vocal and visual alerts warning of Turbulence ahead. SkyPath turbulence data can also be integrated, via next-gen APIs, into any existing flight deck EFB or Dispatch tool, such as a flight planning system. During the Webinar, you will see how SkyPath utilizes sensors (accelerometer) and GPS data, in-flight, from iPads and tablets from 1000s of flights to determine turbulence calibrated to the exact location and severity. The data (SkyPath is currently used by 35,000 pilots, generating 42 million turbulence reports in the last 90 days) is transmitted in real-time from the air to a ground server where patented algorithms, noise filtering, aircraft type normalization and AI are used to create a real time, highly accurate, turbulence map. The data layer is then distributed to SkyPath users, enabling airlines and crew members to ensure the safety of passengers and crew, and to enhance operational efficiency. SkyPath can also be used by pilots in the flightdeck while offline and will automatically sync to receive the latest data or download report data to the server as soon as connectivity is realised.

During the Webinar SkyPath experts will take you on demos of the solution, firstly from a Pilot’s perspective for a typical flight using the flight deck App. Next you will see the Web version as used by dispatch to monitor each flight, and by management for incident analysis and to draw up analytics and reports such as most turbulent routes. First you will learn about the challenges facing the industry with increasing turbulence frequency which is forecast to further increase in the next few years and become more severe. You will see how legacy tools for forecasting turbulence are inadequate and inaccurate with weather radar unable to detect Clear Air Turbulence. As you will see, it can be used for flight-planning and real-time flight monitoring, as well as incident analysis, analytics and insight dashboards. The demo will show:
– Real-time monitoring: Dispatch can choose a flight from the moving map and click on the aircraft to show flight turbulence data.
– Notifications: The dispatcher will receive turbulence notifications for any monitored flight.
– Incident Analysis: Management can go back up to 90 days to analyse the data, learn more about an aircraft incident and view the turbulence data available at the time.

Mission+ Demo: Join us on a pilot’s journey
An immersive experience of Mission+ with an Airbus Captain pilot covering all the different flight phases, from preparation up to reporting. Using Mission+, pilots can automatically retrieve their flight briefing packages on their tablets to prepare their mission, review weather data, and perform their flight acceptance. They can directly access Flysmart+ from Mission+ to compute take-off, use documentation and checklists. In flight, they can follow fuel and time parameters at each waypoint with the navlog function and they can use the moving map which displays the route, enroute data and also includes the Airport Moving Map for better situational awareness. After the flight, they can complete their post flight report, then exchanged with the dispatchers on the ground.

Get insights on the future features
Highlights of the next planned developments of Mission+ will be presented in this last section. Mission+ will continuously evolve to include new functionalities. As a next step, NAVBLUE will integrate and release incrementally new modules to the Mission+ platform such as Airbus aircraft performance calculations and documentation viewer.
