Register to view this On-Demand Webinar (recorded 26th September 2024) to see a demo of three popular EFB Pilot Apps from SITA, and how, through smart integration, they combine to form one pilot EFB tool to support paperless cockpit operations whilst optimizing efficiency through all phases of flight. During the Webinar SITA experts will follow typical pilot workflows to take you on demos of the apps. Firstly, you will see SITA Flight Folder for an interactive digital briefing package, allowing pilots to view, in one app, all flight data related to their upcoming flights, including all documents that are part of the Operational Flight Plan (OFP) or have been uploaded by dispatch; plus, all data related to METAR, TAF and NOTAMs, and more. You will also see how pilots can input the actual weights and fuel pre-flight and add additional flight data themselves. Next you will see SITA eWAS providing pilots with real-time weather data, nowcasts and forecasts during all flight phases. The weather is graphically displayed in a map view or vertical profile and can be adapted to specific phases of the flight (flight briefing, cockpit preparation, inflight and post-flight). You will see how, with SITA eWAS pilots, can take informed, proactive decisions to re-route flight plans to avoid significant weather.
Finally, you will see how SITA OptiFlight seamlessly integrates with SITA Flight Folder and SITA eWAS to bring real-time data science to the cockpit. As you will see OptiFlight utilizes machine learning to build tail specific predictive performance models for the aircraft, using historical flight data, plus accurate weather data to determine the optimum fuel saving scenarios for all phases of flight, and then sends inflight fuel saving recommendations to pilots in-flight. You will see how the pilots seamlessly receive the recommendations for both optimized climb schedule and for shortcuts along the route on the map view within SITA eWAS.

Are you looking at digitizing the cockpit? Or providing pilots with a more advanced weather situation awareness tool? You may have started this journey but now face some challenges as pilots must juggle with multiple applications? If you answered yes at least one of those questions and are willing to drive efficiency in the cockpit, you should not miss this webinar! It will feature a comprehensive demo of two SITA EFB apps SITA Flight Folder and SITA eWAS and show how they are smartly integrated.
SITA Flight Folder is an iOS solution designed to replace the day-of-flight paper documentation, allowing pilots to reduce paper consumption while providing them with a speedier workflow and easy-to-use solution. The access of the digitalized briefing packages in a single place, enables the pilot to review and access, with one click, all flight data related to the upcoming flights, hence enhancing the preparation for the flight, and speeding up the pre-flight process. In addition to that, SITA Flight Folder offers a deep integration of SITA eWAS, the weather awareness tool. Weather information is then directly integrated into the usual pilot workflow which will drive efficiency in the cockpit.
SITA eWAS is a highly intuitive weather application that provides real-time weather observation, nowcasts and forecasts during all flight phases. It also offers the possibility to review the near real-time weather situation and presents how it would evolve in the coming hours. The application features several modes adapted to specific phases of the flight (flight briefing, cockpit preparation, inflight and post-flight) and two main views: the map view and the vertical display. SITA eWAS offers more than 40 weather products from ten weather providers and has the capability to integrate any relevant weather sources.
Last but not least, SITA Flight Folder and SITA eWAS natively display SITA OptiFlight® inflight fuel savings recommendations seamlessly in the pilot workflow.
This webinar is composed of 2 main parts:
- First, we will see how SITA Flight Folder enables more efficient briefing, seamlessly integrating all key information into the pilot workflow. To do that SITA experts will guide you on a walkthrough covering the main features of the application:
– Dashboard tab which contains a summary of the details of a specific flight including SITA OptiClimb recommendations;
– Stations module which contains all the data related to the METAR, TAF and NOTAMs provided in the OFP;
– eWAS module which offers all the features from SITA eWAS;
– Documents section that contains all the PDF, Images and TXT files that are part of the OFP or have been added by the dispatcher to the flight;
– Weight and fuel module which allows the pilot to check the weights and fuel quantities planned from the Operational Flight Plan and manually input the actual quantities;
– Flight log module which allows the pilot to review the OFP data and to add all the actual data of the flight.
- Then, you will see a full demo of SITA eWAS weather features and an introduction to the way SITA OptiClimb® and SITA OptiDirect recommendations are displayed to pilots. The following features will be presented:
– Wind view: display of wind information in a square area around the active flight plan on the Map view;
– Forecast view: display of all weather forecasts available with a filtering option for better clarity;
– Observation view: display of all available weather observations with a filtering option for better clarity;
– SIGMETS: display of all SIGMETS available with a filtering option for better clarity;
– Airport/FIR textual information: providing multiple relevant information to pilots (incl. METAR, TAF, NOTAMS, airport information, etc…);
– Flight Plan management tool enabling the pilot to display and edit flight plans in the application;
– SITA OptiFlight recommendations display: seamless integration of OptiClimb optimized climb schedule in the airport tab and display of OptiDirect shortcuts along the route on the map view.
About the Aircraft IT Webinar Series:
Every 2 weeks the Aircraft IT website hosts a different live Webinar, each Webinar hosted by a different IT Vendor. These sessions represent the perfect opportunity to learn about a software solution in a more informal manner and to quickly gain an in-depth knowledge of all the major systems on the market, all from the comfort of your own office or home with no sales pressure.
The IT vendor provides a live software demonstration/masterclass of their solution and explains how it can benefit airlines, MROs, Operators, OEMs, Leasing Companies. Once logged on, online delegates can ask questions via the interactive sections of the Webinar or simply sit back and watch and listen to the demonstration. There are two sessions during the day, each differently times to accommodate all time zones.
Each Webinar session is recorded, and an On-Demand version is then posted back to the Aircraft IT website a few days after the live session to allow you to view the content again with your colleagues. The library of On-Demand Webinar recordings provides an invaluable reference source of Flight Operations software demonstrations from the World’s leading Flight Operations IT Vendors.
