  • Logipad Demo – Step 1: Before the Flight – Flight Ops Admin / Dispatch and Pilot Apps
    First you will see the workflow of Logipad for pilots and ground staff before take-off, including the key functionalities and modules that Logipad combines in one app. You will see how Logipad integrates into existing EFB and Flight Ops infrastructures, seamlessly exchanges documents and data, and how pilots synchronize their EFB devices to ensure they have all the key info for each specific flight using the single-sync functionality. You will also learn how Logipad optimizes and digitizes processes and supports pilots, crew and ground staff with briefing and documentation procedures. 

    The demo shows:
    Step 1: Flight Operations staff update the documents for the next flight in the Logipad back-end, and flag docs that need to be confirmed by the pilot ahead of take-off.
    Step 2: Flight Operations staff use the Briefing Manager module to view and modify the content of the EFF package from the ground. Updates are sent to the pilots EFB devices.
    Step 3: Prior to the flight Pilots use the single-sync function to update all documents to their EFB App so they have all their information for the flight ahead.
    Step 4: Using the confirmation button, pilots confirm to Flight Ops using the confirmation button that they have read and received their required documents.
    Step 5: Pilots activate the briefing module with the EFB App to access the digital briefing package
    Step 6: Pilots sends fuel data directly to Flight Ops immediately prior to take-off and access updated third-party performance Apps via the Logipad App including the Boeing Performance tool OPT. You will see how Logipad shares data with other Apps, in this case to import performance data from OPT into the Logipad App and to share raw summary data of the flight plan into Lido mPilot.
    Step 7: Pilots update documents during the briefing phase and search for specific information and manuals using the powerful search engine.

  • Logipad Demo – Step 2: During the Flight – Pilots and Flight Crew Apps
    Next you will see Logipad for pilots and crew when they are up in the air. You will see the system functionality, when no Wi-Fi is available and a demo of how to report damaged inventory. Also, you will see Logipad’s eForms and eFormGenerator: using the Logipad eFormGenerator, online forms can be intuitively created and adapted with drag and drop. You will also see what functionality and advantage the integration of the QR-Code Scanner brings. Additionally, you will see a demo of the seamless device-to-device communication and data exchange between pilots EFBs, even if the pilots’ are using different operating systems, such as windows and iOS.

    The demo shows:
    Step 1: Pilots show the EFB working fully offline. Content is saved automatically and then sent to the ground once reconnected.
    Step 2: The flight crew notice a defective seat and take a photo with their tablet and report the fault using electronic forms within Logipad.
    Step 3: See how to easily create an eForm.
    Step 4: During the flight, the pilot hands over controls to the co-pilot. The pilot seamlessly transfers the briefing data to the co-pilot using Logipad’s device-to-device communication feature.

  • Logipad Demo – Step 3: After the Flight – Pilots Apps, Maintenance Crews, Dispatch and Flight Ops Admin
    Finally you will see the functionality of Logipad for pilots, crew and ground staff when they are back on the ground. You will see how Logipad sends recorded flight information directly to Flight Ops, how Logipad can be used by maintenance crew to record outside damages and can process, evaluate and transfer data to other 3rd Party systems.

    The demo shows:
    Step 1: Pilot fills in the flight log within Logipad which is sent directly to Flight Ops.
    Step 2: The aircraft is checked by the maintenance crew and a defect is noticed. Logipad scans the QR code of a faulty part and records the fault digitally.
    Step 3: Flight Ops check that all the flight data is available.

    The climb phase consumes an important amount of fuel and can be further optimized. As you will see, thanks to machine learning performance models obtained from historical flight data for each tail, OptiClimb processes flight plan information together with accurate 4D weather forecasts to predict fuel burn in tens of thousands of scenarios for each climb-out. It then recommends the most efficient scenario to the pilots. As you will see, OptiClimb works for any type of aircraft, flight planning system or pilot briefing solution whether paper or electronic, with no equipment installation or connectivity required. Pilots receive customized speeds, changing at different altitudes for each flight, which they enter into the Flight Management System.

  2. OptiFlight Demo 2: Cruise and En-Route Short Cuts using OptiDirect and OptiLevel
    Traditionally, pilots can request directs from ATC en-route to save time and fuel but often do not have the relevant tools or data in the cockpit to do so. As you will see OptiDirect recommends shortcuts based on historical tracks flown, with an indication of fuel and time savings. The solution also considers wind and temperature forecasts for the flight to recommend those shortcuts that will save the most on today’s flight.  Likewise, flight levels in flight plans are constrained but it is possible to adapt the vertical profile to actual weather and ATC conditions. It is also possible to climb between waypoints. As you will see, OptiLevel advises pilots on the best initial flight level and cruise level changes taking into account forecasted winds and temperatures along the route.

    Next you will see a demo of Aventus which up-links precise wind and temperature data to the aircraft to improve FMC calculations during climb, cruise and decent. As you will see Aventus calculates the optimal wind levels to be inserted to best represent the current climb, cruise and descent wind profile for each flight for optimum efficiency and significant fuel saving. The up-links can be sent directly to the FMC or as a text message to the cockpit. Again, you will see airline case studies and how other airlines are benefiting from using the solution.

  3. SIGMA: Real-Time Weather Hazards Notifications In-flight
    Next you will see a demo of SIGMA that provides high-resolution turbulence data and SIGMET weather hazards such as Icing, Thunderstorms, Volcanic Ash, etc. to the pilots in the cockpit. As you will see SIGMA keeps track of the aircraft position and 4D-trajectory to provide tactical updates on meteorological hazards related to the actual route in the FMS. This means SIGMA will automatically pick up changes to the route and present relevant weather along the flight path. As you will see the solution pushes automatic alerts directly to the flight deck, presenting pilot friendly information via FMS and providing effective decision support to avoid turbulence areas while reducing pilot workload. As with the other solutions, it can be deployed on any ACARS equipped aircraft with no additional software to install or monitor.

  4. ProFlight: Pilot EFB Weather and Flight Optimization App
    Finally, you will see a demo of AVTECH’s popular Pilot EFB App: ProFlight, which effectively combines AVTECH’s other solutions to provide a unique real-time decision support tool for pilots. ProFlight provides a multi-layered, highly accurate real-time weather and flight path optimization solution which can be updated at any time during flight preparation or in flight.     (ii) FlightFolder App: Provides pilots and dispatchers with easy access to flight briefings.  Pilots can log flights efficiently, while dispatchers can dispatch, monitor, and withdraw flights, sharing a common view with the pilots. Dispatchers and pilots provide and receive real-time operational flight plan (OFP) updates and directly attach new or revised documents. The App facilitates a fully digital flight briefing to optimize flight operations
    (iii) CrewTab App: Provides cabin crew with an all-in-one solution to digitally transform their daily operations, including quick access to passengers’ information for better customer care and less time spent on administrative work resulting in more time for passengers and paperless operations. The App automates repetitive flight management processes.
    (iv) eWAS Dispatch App: Provides dispatch with SITA’s next generation flight tracking tool with best-in-class real-time weather services, allowing dispatchers to make better decisions based on more accurate and extensive data.     Step 3:  In the meantime, Cabin Crew report a cabin fault in their CrewTab App and use the Mission Control App to report the fault to maintenance so they are ready to make a repair when the aircraft arrives at the gate.
    Step 4: Dispatch use the eWAS Dispatch App to identify the best re-route and update the flight package in the FlightFolder App.  The Pilots access the new route in their FlightFolder App.
    Step 5: The Pilots use the FlightFolder App to check the weather at the diversion airport. The pilots then use the Mission Control App to message the ground handlers at the diversion airport so they are ready to receive the aircraft.
