As you will see, the solutions and Apps, powered by the UK Met Office’s industry leading high-resolution global weather model and combined with next-gen algorithms, require no aircraft hardware investments, and use existing data links (ACARS, ARINC, FMS, etc.) ensuring integration is easy and seamless for all airlines and aircraft operators of all fleet types worldwide; the result is direct savings from day 1 of implementation. Additionally, the solutions share data ensuring that communication between the aircraft and ground system is kept to a minimum.

The Webinar begins with an overview of AVTECH and their suite of services and Apps, along with a look at the connection with the Met Office’s industry leading 10k global high-resolution weather. You will see how the solutions and apps combine to optimize the efficiency of each flight, from planning until landing. You will then see demos of each solution and App:

  1. ClearPath: Real-Time Flight Path / Profile Optimization
First AVTECH experts will walk you through a demo of ClearPath from a pilot’s perspective for a typical flight. You will see how the solution delivers, in real-time, the key profile data and automatic reporting to the flight deck via an EFB device or simply via the cockpit printer or display, providing pilots with the information they need to optimize in-flight step-climb/decent for the greatest efficiency gains. A Norwegian case study will show that ClearPath has the potential to save up to 2% of cruise fuel. The case study will show example flights, the results and an overview of the total benefits.

  2. Aventus: Real-Time Automatic Optimized Wind Data Uplink
Next you will see a demo of Aventus which up-links precise wind and temperature data to the aircraft to improve FMC calculations during climb, cruise and decent. As you will see Aventus calculates the optimal wind levels to be inserted to best represent the current climb, cruise and descent wind profile for each flight for optimum efficiency and significant fuel saving. The up-links can be sent directly to the FMC or as a text message to the cockpit. Again, you will see airline case studies and how other airlines are benefiting from using the solution.

Using case studies and demos of the Apps and Solutions and following typical work-flows for key personnel such as Pilots, Mechanics, Dispatch, OCC, and more, you will see how real-time data exchange and integration leads to cost savings, safer operations, quicker turn-around times, revenue growth, aircraft availability, more efficient aircraft and crew scheduling, and more. For example, via a demo of Ramco’s EFB solution, you will see how pilots have real-time and electronic visibility of the aircraft’s maintenance status including scheduled maintenance, discrepancies, etc. The demo will follow the pilot recording the Electronic Log Book (ETL/ELB) in the EFB, and you will see how the system will automatically update the aircraft records (an auto parameter updates at aircraft and component level, triggering the maintenance forecast), and notifies mechanics about any discrepancies/defects via the mechanic’s mobile App. Also, you will see how the Dispatch team are given detailed visibility of aircraft status and forecasts of maintenance requirements (including timing), so they can determine the optimum period for which aircraft can be dispatched for missions.

During the Webinar Ramco will demo the following Apps and Solutions, as well as covering key maintenance functionality:

  • Electronic Flight Bag
  • Crew Scheduling and Rostering
  • Crew Risk Assessment
  • Crew Duty Reporting and Duty Limitation
  • Dispatch management
  • Fleet Readiness Tracking
  • Flight Charter Contract and Billing

Following typical workflows and using demos of the solutions, the Webinar will showcase the following key takeaways highlighting the benefits of integrated Flight Operations and Maintenance capabilities:

  1. Frictionless / paperless real-time interactions between pilots and mechanics
Via the ELB/ETL functionality in the EFB, pilots notify mechanics about the discrepancies / defects electronically without any paper-based log page transfers. This not only reduces the friction and delay in discrepancy communication to mechanics, but also the ground team are prepared even before the aircraft reaches the line or base station. The EFB app also allows the check pilots to perform electronic sign off of discrepancies and inspections within the app.  Where the connectivity is not good or available in the ground stations, the pilot and mechanic apps can synchronize over Bluetooth (air drop) and transfer the details to effectively dispatch the aircraft.

  2. Reduced Operating Cost with real-time visibility of crew and Maintenance Forecast
With real-time visibility of crew status (using the crew scheduling feature) and maintenance status visibility to pilots via the EFB, any grounding of aircraft due to maintenance or crew non-availability can be avoided thus avoiding costly AOGs. Also, the scheduling capabilities for both crew and maintenance ensures the right aircraft is dispatched for a trip / mission.

  3. Ensuring safer operations adhering to regulatory compliance (right crew, right aircraft)
All key personnel have instant access to mission critical information and data, with real-time digital records generated for easy auditing. Using the integrated maintenance and crew scheduling capabilities dispatch can ensure that the right crew and right aircraft are always scheduled for the right missions.

  4. Achieve higher mission readiness rates as per contractual SLAs
Due to integrated flight operations and maintenance capabilities and in turn connected to the Flight Charter contract module, the system ensures that the aircraft is available for the customer as per agreed SLA. the system tracks the key KPIs to ensure the mission readiness rate is maintained as per the defined goal.

  5. Timely and accurate charter invoicing through integrated flights operations and charter contracts
Ramco will demo their fully integrated Flight Charter contract module, where upon the pilot’s electronic log book entry, it automatically reviews the contract pricing terms, and helps generate a flight sheet and final invoice instantly without any manual intervention. This significantly improves the lead time for invoice preparation and thus improves cash flow.

  6. How operators can achieve Revenue growth by investing in the right system
In the final part of the webinar, Ramco will explain how, due to safer, paperless, and integrated operations, an airline or operator can increase their revenue growth significantly. You will see some genuine real-life examples from Ramco’s implementation experience.
