With today’s increasingly volatile and unpredictable fuel prices airlines need to move from reactive decision-making to proactive, real-time optimization, unlocking in-flight gains in safety, reduced costs, lower fuel consumption, and improved sustainability. Drawing on real-world operational data and proven results, the AVTECH team will demonstrate how airlines receive these benefits from their tools and services: Aventus Winds, ClearPath Safety, and ClearPath Optimization. These services utilize state-of-the-art, high-resolution wind and temperature forecasts from the UK Met Office. Combined with high-performance computing and the aircraft’s actual performance and weight data, they calculate the optimal 4DT flight path in space and time.
As you will see, with data sent directly to the aircraft, the system can detect and help avoid all types of hazardous weather and turbulence, Clear Air turbulence, Mountain Waves and Convective storm clouds, while optimizing flight paths (both vertical and lateral), as well as speeds and altitudes tailored to each individual flight. Pilots can easily access the information in flight through customized formats, such as direct messages to the FMS, cockpit printer outputs, or via the EFB. All of this is done without the need for additional onboard hardware, ensuring integration is easy and seamless, and requires no investment to get started.
During the webinar, AVTECH will also be joined by Chief Operational Meteorologist Steven Ramsdale from the UK Met Office, who will share his perspective on the future of aviation weather intelligence, including how AI-based weather models outperform standard aviation weather forecasts, adding value to aviation forecasting. You will see why 10k global Met Office weather forecast sets the gold standard for high-quality weather source data, and how it enables the most precise and accurate flight optimization
The AVTECH team will additionally walk you through some of the challenges airlines are facing when it comes to fuel efficiency and how the AVTECH services are addressing these challenges.You will learn how Aventus Winds automatically provides the FMC with more accurate tailwind information, dynamically selecting the most relevant wind data. This reduces wind error and enables a more accurate top-of-descent calculation, optimizing both cruise and descent. Next, ClearPath Optimization re-calculates the original flight plan, enabling pilots to optimize cruise in real time, support requests for shortcuts from ATC, and improve on-time performance (OTP) while maintaining the target airline Cost Index. You will also learn how ClearPath Safety continuously monitors the flight and provides alerts for turbulence and hazardous weather along the flight route. Finally, you will see the post-flight dashboard, which provides detailed analytics for monitoring, validation, and reporting.
