*Please note this Webinar is for airlines and aircraft operators only
Register to view this On-Demand Webinar (recorded 9th October 2025) and join Lufthansa Systems as they demo the latest real-time capabilities of Lido mPilot, the popular integrated charting and navigation solution for iOS, as used by airlines and operators of all sizes worldwide to provide their pilots and Ops teams with clearer information and stronger situational awareness across all phases of flight. Using demos of key system updates, you will see how Lido mPilot is evolving to meet the complex demands of modern cockpit operations providing pilots with the key real-time operational info they need directly into existing workflows and all in one App. Firstly, you will see how how Aviation-Grade Weather Overlays provide live data on turbulence, icing, and vertical profiles directly within the familiar Lido mPilot interface. Then, you will see how GPS Interference Detection supplies real-time alerts of spoofing or jamming events along the route, accompanied by expert analysis to support informed responses. Next you will see how the Company Information Overlay allows airlines to integrate operational details such as restricted areas, temporary flight restrictions, closed taxiways, or preferred parking positions, directly into the pilots’ workflows ensuring that local procedures and operational guidance are available when and where they are needed most.
Finally, you will see how the Lido Airport Moving Map (AMM), with detailed coverage at more than 2,500 airports, displays the aircraft’s real-time position on detailed layouts to support safe and efficient taxi operations, even in low visibility.
The Webinar is divided into the following five key sections:
- Industry / Pilot Operational Pressure Challenges and Lido mPilot overview
First, Lido mPilot experts will set the scene by briefly outlining the operational pressures pilots face today — information overload, the need for fast tactical decisions – and the importance of clear situational awareness on the ground and in the air. You will learn how Lido mPilot assists pilots to overcome these challenges through bringing terminal charts, dynamic enroute maps and operational overlays together in a single iPad app so that crews don’t need to switch between systems during critical phases of flight
- Lido mPilot Demo 1: Aviation-grade Weather Overlays
Next, you will be taken on a demo showing how Lido Weather integrates with mPilot to present concise, operational weather information directly on enroute and terminal charts. Specifically, you will see:
– Turbulence & icing forecasts — how 12-hour turbulence and icing forecasts are displayed so you can rapidly assess weather risk along a route.
– Vertical profile & forecast overlays — how the vertical profile view helps you to visualise icing/turbulence intensity by flight level and location.
– Integrated workflow — how these overlays are presented inside the familiar mPilot interface so that you can act without leaving the charting app.
You will learn how these overlays are intended to reduce the time spent hunting for scattered weather products, and how they support tactical decisions enroute and pre-flight.
- Lido mPilot Demo 2 — GPS Interference Detection
Next, you will see how Lido mPilot displays GPS interference information (both jamming and spoofing) along the route:
– Real-time interference alerts — you will see jamming/spoofing reports rendered on the enroute map so crews gain immediate situational awareness.
– Context & partnering data — you will learn how Lido’s integration with specialist providers identifies validated interference events rather than raw sensor noise, helping crews and support teams respond appropriately.
– Operational use — you will see examples of how this information can be used in-flight planning and when reacting to unexpected position anomalies.
You will learn why adding a GPS interference layer matters operationally and how it can reduce uncertainty when navigation anomalies appear.
- Lido mPilot Demo 3 — Company Info Overlay (closed taxiways, restricted areas, etc.)
Next you will see a demo showing how an airline’s operational details can be layered into mPilot:
– Custom overlays — you will see how restricted areas, temporary flight restrictions, closed taxiways and parking positions can be uploaded and shown as company layers.
– Role-relevant displays — you will learn how the overlay can be tailored (e.g., show different items for line pilots vs. training crews).
– Seamless integration — you will see how company layers sit on top of charts and maps so operational notes are visible directly in pilot workflows.
You will learn how embedding company knowledge into the tablet reduces the need for separate operational PDFs and improves the speed and clarity of in-flight decisions.
- Lido mPilot Demo 4 — Lido Airport Moving Map (AMM) & Surface Situational Awareness
Finally, you will see the Airport Moving Map in action and how it supports taxi operations and low-visibility contexts:
– Detailed airport layouts — you will view dynamic AMM charts showing ramps, taxiways, signs and service roads.
– Own-ship positioning — you will see the own-ship symbol on charts (when paired with an approved AID or external GPS) to aid precise taxi routing.
– Broad airport coverage — you will learn that Lido AMM now supports a very large airport database (industry coverage numbers exceed 2,500 airports), making it useful for a wide range of network operations.
– Ground-safety workflows — you will see examples of how crews use AMM to cross-check ATC taxi instructions and improve low-visibility confidence.
You will learn practical ways AMM reduces runway incursions and taxi mistakes by giving crews a clear picture of where the airplane sits relative to the airport environment.
About the Aircraft IT Webinar Series:
Every 2 weeks the Aircraft IT website hosts a different live Webinar, each Webinar hosted by a different IT Vendor. These sessions represent the perfect opportunity to learn about a software solution in a more informal manner and to quickly gain an in-depth knowledge of all the major systems on the market, all from the comfort of your own office or home with no sales pressure.
The IT vendor provides a live software demonstration/masterclass of their solution and explains how it can benefit airlines, MROs, Operators, OEMs, Leasing Companies. Once logged on, online delegates can ask questions via the interactive sections of the Webinar or simply sit back and watch and listen to the demonstration. There are two sessions during the day, each differently times to accommodate all time zones.
Each Webinar session is recorded, and an On-Demand version is then posted back to the Aircraft IT website a few days after the live session to allow you to view the content again with your colleagues. The library of On-Demand Webinar recordings provides an invaluable reference source of Flight Operations software demonstrations from the World’s leading Flight Operations IT Vendors.
