Webinar Overview

Register to view this On-Demand Webinar (recorded 28th July 2022) and see how to securely manage all mobile devices (laptops, smartphones, tablets) as used by mechanics on the line and in the hangar with the next-gen Smart Kiosk from M3 Solutions. The demo will be delivered by Air Canada and will highlight how the airline uses the Kiosk to ensure its engineering teams have up-to-date and always ready-to-use mobile devices.  You will see how the Kiosk offers so much more than a secure charging station, with device tracking using barcode and RFID technology, and crucially how the IT team can use the Kiosk’s advanced features to ensure each device, when docked in the Kiosk, is automatically synchronized with the latest key documentation such as OEM Technical Publications; software and App updates including from M&E software vendors Trax and Smart4Aviation, as well as Boeing Toolbox; and even operating systems such as a new iOS or Android version are updated.  IT Teams can additionally push any data or alerts to each device through the Kiosk, and ensure full compliance, through only releasing the device from the Kiosk once it has received all the critical content such as the latest Technical Publications.

With airlines and MROs around the world embarking on digital transformation projects, mobile devices used by mechanics on the line and in the hangar are becoming as important as physical tools to carry out the work.  The Webinar begins by looking at the mounting challenges Air Canada was facing from manually managing their mobile devices as well as data, Apps, and document updates to each device.  The Webinar focuses particularly on the challenges of meeting regulatory compliance by ensuring that engineers have mobile devices with the latest technical documentation / Publications and maintenance manuals always available.  You will see how the auto-sync functionality with the M3 Kiosk seamlessly updates each device, reduces the strain on IT staff and ensures compliance, plus how the M3 Kiosk has provided Air Canada with the missing piece to streamline M&E digital processes.

The Webinar is divided into the following three key sections:

  1. Overview of M3 Solutions, and the Mobile Device Management Solution Kiosk

The Webinar begins with the M3 Solutions team providing a full overview of the M3 platform showing its key features and benefits.  You will see how the Kiosk offers so much more than a secure charging station, with device tracking using barcode and RFID technology, and crucially how airline and MRO IT teams can use the Kiosk’s advanced features to ensure each device, when docked in the Kiosk, is automatically synchronized with the latest key documentation such as OEM Technical Publications; software and App updates including from M&E software vendors, as well as key info such as Boeing Toolbox; and even operating systems such as a new iOS or Android version are updated.  IT Teams can additionally push any data or alerts to each device through the Kiosk, and ensure full compliance, through only releasing the device from the Kiosk once it has received all the critical content such as the latest Technical Publications and maintenance manuals.

  2. The Challenges of Manual Processes to Manage Technical Publications & Maintenance Manuals, as well as 1000s of Mobile Devices

Next you will learn about the challenges facing airlines and MROs in manually managing their technical publications and maintenance manuals, as well as 1000s of mobile devices, and ensuring each device is synchronized with the latest critically compliant updates.  You will see how the M3 Solution Kiosk addresses these challenges and ensures that engineers have instant access to fully compliant and always ready mobile devices. You will see how the platform automates deployment of MRO mechanic content, apps, and operating systems completely remotely and unattended, taking the strain away from IT staff and ensuring the airline or MRO are fully ready to adopt digital processes.

  3. Platform Demo – Air Canada: How the Kiosk is used and Benefits Achieved

Lastly, you will see how the M3 Platform is used in an operational environment at Air Canada. You will see how Air Canada has full security and management over its mobile devices as used by its mechanics, and how they download all content for deployment to the mobile devices into the kiosk ahead of time.  When the airline is ready to go live with the update, then it can trigger the kiosk to update all the devices. As you will see, within 24 hours all mechanics are using the updated version, whether that be an updated App from M&E system provider Trax, or Boeing Toolbox content, or compliant critical content such as Technical Publications or maintenance manuals.
