Webinar Overview

*Please note: this webinar is only for Airlines or Aircraft Operators only

Register to view this On-Demand Webinar (recorded 5th February 2026) and learn from Jaime Romero Waldhorn, Fuel Efficiency Manager, Wizz Air, about the operational benefits of FlyGuide FPO (Flight Path Optimization) from StorkJet within the airline’s fuel efficiency program. Operating one of the largest high-intensity networks in Europe, the carrier is an industry-voice worth hearing.

When Wizz Air entered its next phase of fuel efficiency and environmental performance, the airline faced a familiar yet critical challenge. Legacy flight management systems relying on generic performance models and limited weather data were no longer delivering the precision and responsiveness required for today’s ultra-low-cost, high-frequency network. With thousands of flights each year and aggressive sustainability targets, Wizz Air recognized the need for a solution that could provide real-time pilot decision support and deliver actionable optimization across climb, cruise and descent phases.

To meet this challenge, Wizz Air introduced FlyGuide FPO (Flight Path Optimization) from StorkJet, deploying the solution fleet-wide to provide tail-specific recommendations on optimal speeds and altitudes via the airline’s EFB app. By leveraging high-resolution weather inputs, machine-learning-based performance modelling and cloud-enabled flight-phase integration, pilots receive in-flight guidance and post-flight feedback, improving situational awareness and decision-making. During trials covering more than 10,000 flights, 92% of pilots reported using the tool on almost every flight, and the result was demonstrated fuel and CO₂ savings of around 0.5% to 1% per flight, fully aligned with regulatory and operational requirements.

Attendees will learn how Wizz Air transitioned from standard FMS-based flight profiles to a dynamic, AI-enabled flight-path optimization regime embedded in the cockpit and operations workflow. The session will explore how pilot adoption was accelerated, how actionable analytics were integrated into daily operations and how the airline created a scalable foundation for ongoing sustainability improvements and network-wide efficiency gains.

Jaime Romero Waldhorn currently holds the position of Fuel Efficiency Manager at Wizz Air. He started his aviation career at the age of 18 with his commercial pilot training, which was then supplemented by completing a bachelor’s degree on Commercial Aviation Engineering. After spending 6 years in various operations-related positions at LATAM Airlines, he moved to Germany where he got a master’s degree in Traffic and Transport from the TU Darmstadt in 2019.

Since 2018 he has been part of Wizz Air, starting his current role in 2020, overseeing the introduction and the monitoring of fuel efficiency initiatives. With over fourteen years of experience in the airline industry, Jaime has made significant contributions to enhancing fuel efficiency and operational performance at Wizz Air.

About the Aircraft IT Webinar Series:

Every 2 weeks the Aircraft IT website hosts a different live Webinar, each Webinar hosted by a different IT Vendor. These sessions represent the perfect opportunity to learn about a software solution in a more informal manner and to quickly gain an in-depth knowledge of all the major systems on the market, all from the comfort of your own office or home with no sales pressure.

The IT vendor provides a live software demonstration/masterclass of their solution and explains how it can benefit airlines, MROs, Operators, OEMs, Leasing Companies. Once logged on, online delegates can ask questions via the interactive sections of the Webinar or simply sit back and watch and listen to the demonstration. There are two sessions during the day, each differently times to accommodate all time zones.

Each Webinar session is recorded, and an On-Demand version is then posted back to the Aircraft IT website a few days after the live session to allow you to view the content again with your colleagues. The library of On-Demand Webinar recordings provides an invaluable reference source of Flight Operations software demonstrations from the World’s leading Flight Operations IT Vendors.
