Webinar Overview

Please note: This Webinar is for airlines and aircraft operators only

Register to view this On-Demand Webinar (recorded 29th September 2022) to see a demo and overview of the popular eWAS Pilot solution from SITA, as used each day on thousands of flights worldwide, to provide pilots, via their Tablets, with a near real-time view of significant weather (clear air turbulence, convective cloud, lightning, icing, High Ice Water Content [HIWC], and more) covering all phases of flight including airports.  As you will see eWAS Pilot displays multiple sources of weather in real-time, visualized graphically in 4-D (Horizontal, Vertical and Across Time), with the flight plan mapped out, all in a pilot centric App providing pilots with the information needed to track bad weather en-route, and decide whether to re-route the flight and avoid the avoidable. As you will see, the eWAS Pilot solution is compatible with any device, and aircraft type, and uses a range of connectivity (and can be used Offline) making it suitable for all airlines and aircraft operators.

The webinar begins with SITA experts highlighting how weather is getting more severe, more frequently, creating disruptions to an airline’s operation, and adding higher stress and workloads to the pilots.  Via demos of eWAS Pilot, you will see how the solution supplements weather charts and cuts briefing times down, while providing supreme confidence in the air for real-time weather, allowing pilots to reduce their cognitive load and manage their energy better to find further areas to perfect their flight.  The eWAS Pilot demo will walk you through a typical flight including pre-flight briefings, and in-flight how pilots can use the solution to predict and then avoid adverse weather, plus during long delays how pilots stay up to date with weather forecasts, and lots more.  You will also see latest developments such as adding new weather sources (DWD and WNI) providing further resolution and timeliness of weather updates globally, as well as how PIREPs can be easily submitted in-App allowing all eWAS Pilot and eWAS Dispatch users to be instantly aware of developing weather conditions.

The Webinar is divided into three key areas:

  • Full Overview of eWAS Pilot – the Key Benefits
First you will see the key highlights and benefits pilots gain when using eWAS Pilot, including easily reading the weather, taken from multiple sources, in real-time, visualized in 4-D. You will see how the eWAS Pilot reduces the cognitive load on pilots, when it comes to weather, especially when the flight plan is shown over the weather in altitude and over time. You will also understand how pilots can avoid adverse weather like High Ice Water Content (HIWC) to prevent grounding of aircraft, saving on operational costs. Plus, lots more.

  • Latest Updates to eWAS Pilot – New Weather Sources, PIREPs, more
Next you see how SITA continually improve the solution and strive to ease pilot workload while keeping operations safer. As you will see SITA have recently added new weather sources, DWD & WNI, giving further resolution and timeliness of weather updates globally. At the same time, PIREPs can be easily submitted in-app, allowing all eWAS Pilot & eWAS Dispatch users to be aware of developing weather conditions.

  • eWAS Pilot Demo – Pre-Flight, In-Flight, and Delays
Finally, you will see a live demo, showcasing how pilots use eWAS Pilot to ease their pre-flight briefings, while gaining supreme confidence in-flight regarding weather decisions. SITA experts will walk you through the flight briefing process using Live Weather Data. You will also see how pilots can navigate the weather through time, seeing the direction of the weather’s movement for the entire flight. Additionally, how pilots stay up to date with weather forecasts, especially for heavily delayed flights, plus lots more.

About the Aircraft IT Webinar Series:

Every 2 weeks the Aircraft IT website hosts a different live Webinar, each Webinar hosted by a different IT Vendor. These sessions represent the perfect opportunity to learn about a software solution in a more informal manner and to quickly gain an in-depth knowledge of all the major systems on the market, all from the comfort of your own office or home with no sales pressure.

The IT vendor provides a live software demonstration/masterclass of their solution and explains how it can benefit airlines, MROs, Operators, OEMs, Leasing Companies. Once logged on, online delegates can ask questions via the interactive sections of the Webinar or simply sit back and watch and listen to the demonstration. There are two sessions during the day, each differently times to accommodate all time zones.

Each Webinar session is recorded, and an On-Demand version is then posted back to the Aircraft IT website a few days after the live session to allow you to view the content again with your colleagues. The library of On-Demand Webinar recordings provides an invaluable reference source of Flight Operations software demonstrations from the World’s leading Flight Operations IT Vendors.
