Register to view this On-Demand Webinar (recorded 30th September 2021) and join SITA FOR AIRCRAFT for a full overview and demo of their Digital Day of Operations (DDO) suite of integrated Apps and services designed to digitize and optimize each flight at pre-flight, take-off, inflight, landing and post-flight. As you will see, the DDO Apps, designed for key personnel for each flight (pilots, cabin crew, dispatch, ground crew, maintenance, OCC) and powered by smart technology and real-time connectivity, enable flight and route optimization for pilots in-flight, greater coordination for dispatchers, ease of communication between crew and maintenance on the ground and in-flight, and improved situational awareness for OCC, leading to improved on-time performance, turnaround, safety and sustainability while reducing costs.
During the Webinar SITA FOR AIRCRAFT experts will demo the Apps for a typical flight showcasing the seamless communication across platforms including Pilots accessing the eWAS Pilot app for real-time optimized views of live weather and the Flight Folder App for real-time OFP; dispatch using Flight Tracking and Flight Folder Apps; cabin crew, ground crew and maintenance using the flight specific shared communication App, Mission Control, for seamless communication in-flight and on the ground; and more.
The Webinar is divided into three key sections:
- Industry Challenges: Covid Impact on Resources; Sustainable Aviation; Digitization
The Webinar begins with SITA FOR AIRCRAFT experts outlining the market conditions and challenges facing the industry. Challenges include airlines compensating for reduced staff levels post Covid, with the need to digitize and automate processes: the importance of finding better and more efficient ways of working and a continuous effort to optimize operations. There is also global demand for sustainable aviation and the drive towards zero carbon aircraft operations.
As you will see the DDO suite of Apps provides airlines with the tools needed to meet these challenges, from assisting pilots and dispatch to optimize flight routes for maximum fuel efficiency, to improving air-to-ground collaboration so that a smaller team can work more effectively and efficiently together on each flight, to enhancing situational awareness and continue to optimize operations.
- Day of Operations Apps Demos and Overviews
Next you will be taken on a full overview and demo of each of the Apps:
(i) eWAS Pilot App: Provides pilots with graphically optimized views of weather phenomena to the flight deck, in real time. Pilots can then take informed, proactive decisions to re-route flight plans to avoid significant weather. Airlines can also use the App for forecasts and satellite-based observation data to create more economical and sustainable flight plans. By evaluating fuel decisions using eWAS Pilot Intelligence, airlines can calculate the right amount of fuel to carry.
(ii) FlightFolder App: Provides pilots and dispatchers with easy access to flight briefings. Pilots can log flights efficiently, while dispatchers can dispatch, monitor, and withdraw flights, sharing a common view with the pilots. Dispatchers and pilots provide and receive real-time operational flight plan (OFP) updates and directly attach new or revised documents. The App facilitates a fully digital flight briefing to optimize flight operations
(iii) CrewTab App: Provides cabin crew with an all-in-one solution to digitally transform their daily operations, including quick access to passengers’ information for better customer care and less time spent on administrative work resulting in more time for passengers and paperless operations. The App automates repetitive flight management processes.
(iv) eWAS Dispatch App: Provides dispatch with SITA’s next generation flight tracking tool with best-in-class real-time weather services, allowing dispatchers to make better decisions based on more accurate and extensive data. The App automatically and continuously checks multiple flight and external parameters and raises an alert if there is an anomaly, so dispatchers do not need to monitor flights continuously. The unique combination of features for better tracking, weather avoidance, fuel usage, and communications improves operational efficiency, sustainability, reliability, and safety.
(v) Mission Control App: A shared platform providing cross-team collaboration for each flight for all key personnel such as pilots, OCC, ramp, gate personnel, cabin crew, maintenance, etc. Integrated with Datalink services, the App ensure everyone has simultaneous access to the same information. The App creates full visibility and transparency for optimizing efficiency and turnaround.
- Day of Operations App Demo: A Typical Flight
Finally, you will see a demo of the Apps for a typical flight showcasing the seamless communication and data integration:
Step 1: The pilots using the eWAS Pilot App identify bad weather on-route.
Step 2: The pilots use the Mission Control App to notify all key flight personnel of a diversion.
Step 3: In the meantime, Cabin Crew report a cabin fault in their CrewTab App and use the Mission Control App to report the fault to maintenance so they are ready to make a repair when the aircraft arrives at the gate.
Step 4: Dispatch use the eWAS Dispatch App to identify the best re-route and update the flight package in the FlightFolder App. The Pilots access the new route in their FlightFolder App.
Step 5: The Pilots use the FlightFolder App to check the weather at the diversion airport. The pilots then use the Mission Control App to message the ground handlers at the diversion airport so they are ready to receive the aircraft.
About the Aircraft IT Webinar Series:
Every 2 weeks the Aircraft IT website hosts a different live Webinar, each Webinar hosted by a different IT Vendor. These sessions represent the perfect opportunity to learn about a software solution in a more informal manner and to quickly gain an in-depth knowledge of all the major systems on the market, all from the comfort of your own office or home with no sales pressure.
The IT vendor provides a live software demonstration/masterclass of their solution and explains how it can benefit airlines, MROs, Operators, OEMs, Leasing Companies. Once logged on, online delegates can ask questions via the interactive sections of the Webinar or simply sit back and watch and listen to the demonstration. There are two sessions during the day, each differently times to accommodate all time zones.
Each Webinar session is recorded, and an On-Demand version is then posted back to the Aircraft IT website a few days after the live session to allow you to view the content again with your colleagues. The library of On-Demand Webinar recordings provides an invaluable reference source of Flight Operations software demonstrations from the World’s leading Flight Operations IT Vendors.
