Webinar Overview

Register to view this On-Demand Webinar (recorded 30th March 2023) to see a full overview and demo of CAE Flight Operations Solutions, the industry leading NextGen digital platform from CAE, as used by airlines and operators worldwide to manage and track over 54 million flights (airlines and operators, business, more) per year, while supporting over 200,000 crew members with intelligent digital tools and real-time data.  As you will see, by leveraging the power of data, automation, AI, ML and optimization, the cloud-native CAE Flight Operations Solutions enable end-to-end flight operations management, creating a digital ecosystem, enabling airlines to break operational silos and harness the power of data to improve operational performance, profitability, aircraft utilization, crew communication, and passenger experience. During the Webinar, the CAE team will take you through a tour of the whole comprehensive suite of solutions spanning crew, flight, movement / tracking, airport, on-board catering, and cost management. You will see the transformational benefits of using one end-to-end digital flight operations solution; but also airlines and operators can pick and choose the individual solutions and Apps that match their exact requirements to integrate with and enhance their existing Flight Operations platforms.

The Webinar begins with a short overview of CAE, before a full overview of their comprehensive CAE Flight Operations Solutions platform. You will then see demos of some key solutionsincluding Flight Plan Manager for NextGen Flight Planning with real-time data and predictive tools to optimize routes in all phases of flight; Flight Explorer for GADSS compliant tracking and monitoring with extensive graphical weather options; eFlight Manager to empower pilots in-flight with live data to make more confident decisions and recalculate routes for better accuracy and cost savings; Movement Manager providing the OCC with a real-time single view of their entire fleet, and more. You will then see some latest innovations with a demo of the new Operations Control Task Board designed to empower operation controllers to make quick and accurate decisions with disruptions. You will see how the Task Board generates real-time automated solutions to complex problems enabling OCC to manage by exception and optimize daily operations.

The Webinar is divided into four key sections followed by Q&A:

  1. An Introduction to CAE and the need to Digitize Flight Operations
First, a quick intro to CAE, which is backed by a record of 75 years of industry firsts. CAE continues to reimagine the customer experience and revolutionize training and operational support solutions in civil aviation, defense and security, and healthcare.

Next, you will learn about the challenges to daily flight operations and the need to digitize. Airlines are operating in a challenging economic environment with rising labor and fuel costs, working with disparate IT data systems that impact the efficiency of decision-making, ensuring regulatory compliance to maintain safety standards and avoid financial penalties, and trying to meet a fluctuating passenger demand where historical data to predict future trends can no longer be relied upon. Airlines need a digital transformation they can trust.  As you will see CAE has created an industry-leading digital Flight Operations ecosystem.

  2. Overview of the CAE Flight Operations Solutions portfolio
Next, you will be taken on a tour of the full suite of solutions.  You will see how CAE enables airlines to break operational silos and harness the power of data to improve operational performance, profitability, and passenger experience. Spanning crew, flight, movement, airport, on-board catering, and cost management, CAE offers an end-to-end solution that improves decision making by using data across the entire operation. Operators worldwide rely on these intelligent and mobile-enabled tools to track over 54 million flights per year, while supporting over 200,000 crew members across every major alliance.

    This comprehensive portfolio covers:

Airport Management – flexible airport staff and resource management from planning through day of operations.
Crew Management – a robust set of solutions for the complex world of aviation crew management through optimizing schedules, forecasting crew resources, maintaining safety standards, and recovering from disruptions.
Flight Management – optimizing the connected flight processes of allocating, planning, briefing, and communication.
In-Flight Services – a comprehensive onboard catering and provisioning solution that reduces complexity, improves control, and offers complete operational visibility.
Operations Control – the industry’s most comprehensive real-time, scalable, and configurable operations management system.
Training Management – offers a holistic solution with access to course development teams, a complete training management system, an extensive courseware library, and unparalleled service.
Crew Engagement – apps to provide crew members with real-time information at their fingertips anytime, anywhere

  3. Product Demos: Flight Plan Manager, Flight Explorer, eFlight Manager, Movement Manager
Next, CAE will take a more in-depth overview with demos of the key solutions used by airlines to manage daily flight operations:

Flight Plan Manager for NextGen Flight Planning with real-time data and predictive tools to optimize routes in all phases of flight
Flight Explorer for GADSS compliant tracking and monitoring with extensive graphical weather options
eFlight Manager to empower pilots in-flight with live data to make more confident decisions and recalculate routes for better accuracy and cost savings
Movement Manager providing the OCC with a real-time single view of their entire fleet, plus keep a track on the tiniest of details that could impact operations.

  4. Product Demo: Latest Innovations in Disruption Management with Task Board
Finally, you will see a demonstration of the enhanced manage by exception process provided with the new Operations Control Task Board. The Task Board provides categorized alerts to any disruptions, organized temporally, along with intelligent real-time solutions to empower operation controllers to make quick and accurate decisions.  As you will see, Task Board provides a bridge to large scale automated recovery solutions, the Task Board gives users the information and context to make accurate decisions quickly. An overview of the evolving architecture of the platform that enables the Task Board will be provided along with CAE’s vision for Task Optimization and Automated Recovery.
