Webinar Overview

*This Webinar is for Airlines and Aircraft Operators only

Register to view this On-Demand Webinar and join the digital data experts at Jeppesen as they walk you through Boeing’s sophisticated Ground Controls solution used by airlines and aircraft operators, of all sizes and fleet types, to manage key navigational content, such as charts and maps, in near-real time. The demo will follow a typical flight and take a tour through Ground Controls’ different modules and functionality, including: selecting the latest airport charts; tailoring route maps for specific aircraft and airports, generating Trip Kit, filtered airport chart alerts; and sending all the data to JDM Pro to be forwarded to the pilots’ EFB devices. You will see how Ground Controls sits into the Jeppesen EFB digital ecosystem and can be fully integrated and synchronized with third-party content, as well as flight planning, EFF tools, weather and NOTAMs, allowing airlines to achieve higher efficiencies through simplified pilot and ground staff workflows and to better utilize their flight data.

During the Webinar you will also see how Ground Controls enables a quick response to support dynamic flight operations due to COVID-19, for example, late changes to flight schedules, repatriation flights, operating more cargo only flights. As you will see Ground Controls ensures that pilots always have the key navigational data they need, when they need it.

The Webinar is divided into three key sections:

  • Ground Controls overview and Jeppesen EFB Digital Ecosystem
The Webinar begins with a full overview of Ground Controls, its modules and functionality and where the solution sits within the Jeppesen EFB Digital Ecosystem. You will see how Ground Controls reduces the time is takes for airlines to request, create, distribute, revise and update key navigational content, from around 6 weeks in a paper environment, to around 6 minutes.
  • Ground Controls Demo 1: Typical Flight Walkthrough
Next, you will be taken on a walkthrough demo of Ground Controls, highlighting the different modules and functionality, including: viewing and publishing filtered airport chart alerts; tailoring route maps for specific aircraft and airports; importing company airport PDF documents into the converter to create a day/night mode before publishing to the flight crew; ensuring the latest, fully up-to-date charts and maps are available to the flight crew, and more.
  • Ground Controls Demo 2: Generating Trip Kit On-Demand and Pilot iPad Viewer
You will next see how to generate the Trip Kit On-demand, as a back up to FlightDeck Pro, containing linked table of contents, tailored smart in-route notes overlaid on the route maps, terminal charts, etc.  Finally, you will see the iPad pilot display, including pilot alerts to updated charts, flight route charts, airport data, and more.

About the Aircraft IT Webinar Series:

Every 2 weeks the Aircraft IT website hosts a different live Webinar, each Webinar hosted by a different IT Vendor. These sessions represent the perfect opportunity to learn about a software solution in a more informal manner and to quickly gain an in-depth knowledge of all the major systems on the market, all from the comfort of your own office or home with no sales pressure.

The IT vendor provides a live software demonstration/masterclass of their solution and explains how it can benefit airlines, MROs, Operators, OEMs, Leasing Companies. Once logged on, online delegates can ask questions via the interactive sections of the Webinar or simply sit back and watch and listen to the demonstration. There are two sessions during the day, each differently times to accommodate all time zones.

Each Webinar session is recorded, and an On-Demand version is then posted back to the Aircraft IT website a few days after the live session to allow you to view the content again with your colleagues. The library of On-Demand Webinar recordings provides an invaluable reference source of MRO software demonstrations from the World’s leading Flight Operations IT Vendors.
