*Please note: this webinar is for airlines and aircraft operators only*
Register to attend this Webinar to see how the latest flight planning and flight tracking technologies are assisting airlines and aircraft operators to optimize daily workflows, reduce manual workload through advanced automation, cut planning time, and make better informed real-time operational decisions across the entire flight lifecycle, via demos of the popular PPS Flight Planning and OpsControl Flight Tracking solutions from Air Support, as used by over 500 airlines and operators worldwide since 1989. During the Webinar, Air Support experts will demonstrate the solutions using real-world dispatch and OCC workflows, focusing on common challenges faced in day-to-day operations and how the software can help to address them. Firstly, you will see how PPS Flight Planning simplifies the entire dispatch process, reducing manual planning workload with advanced auto-dispatch features (including AutoPlanning and AutoFiling), improving route and fuel efficiency, handling changing operational requirements, and connecting flight planning with other systems all in one structured workflow, closing the loop between planning, crew briefing and execution. You will also see advanced planning capabilities, including Advanced ETOPS/EDTO and the enhanced Aircraft Editor. Once the aircraft leaves the gate, you will see how OpsControl takes over and how OCC teams follow every active flight in real time on a single screen, with live ADS-B tracking, managing information from multiple sources, dealing with weather and NOTAM changes, reducing information overload, and using a Management by Exception approach, so that OCC teams can see at a glance which flights need attention and which can be left to run as planned.
The Webinar is divided into the following three sections:
- Introduction to Air Support
First, you will get a brief introduction to Air Support, the Danish aviation software company founded in 1989. Air Support is headquartered at Billund Airport (EKBI) and has regional representatives in Belgium, Canada, Denmark, France and Singapore, covering the Americas, Europe, APAC and the Middle East. You will learn how the company, an independent SaaS provider with more than 500 customers across more than 800 accounts, has built its core business around flight planning, flight tracking and post-flight data. You will also hear how its products are developed by engineers, pilots and dispatchers for professional flight planners, with ongoing investment in research and development.
- PPS Flight Planning® use case: from manual planning to an efficient, integrated dispatch workflow
Next, Air Support experts will discuss common flight planning challenges from the dispatcher’s point of view and demonstrate how PPS Flight Planning helps solve them. You will see a live walkthrough of a real-world flight including the following functionality:
– Reducing manual planning workload: You will see how the PPS X guide panel leads the dispatcher through each stage of the flight (Flight Data, Route, Crew, Fuel, Mass & Balance, Border Intersection and Dispatch), with clear status checks at each step. You will also see how ATC information, Item 18 data and the ATC flight plan preview are built automatically and how AFTN addresses are managed in the same view, so nothing needs to be re-typed.
– AutoDispatch (AutoPlanning & AutoFiling): You will see how the advanced automated features optimize all calculations, uploads data to CrewBriefing and ATS FPL filings via the AutoDispatch module. It allows the users to concentrate on the more demanding tasks in a busy operational environment.
AutoDispatch features:
– Batch planning and filing of multiple flights without manual input
– Reduced dispatcher workload and more consistent flight-planning decisions
– Automatic flight plan generation based on schedule and operational data (i.e. MEL limitations)
– Automatic route selection and optimization
– Automatic data export to EFB
– Integrations: You will see how the finished flight package is uploaded to CrewBriefing and other connected systems directly from the Dispatch tab. You will also see how load sheets, RAIM predictions, Runway Analysis, Enroute Terrain Analysis (DriftDown), and ATC sheets and charts are generated in the same workflow, closing the loop between planning, crew briefing and execution.
– Advanced capabilities: The discussion will also cover Advanced ETOPS/EDTO flight planning and the enhanced Aircraft Editor for managing aircraft performance data. You will learn how each of these supports compliant, efficient planning as operational requirements evolve
- OpsControl® Flight Tracking use case: maintaining full visibility with Management by Exception
Then Air Support experts will demonstrate the challenges dispatchers and OCC teams face once flights are under way, and show how OpsControl Flight Tracking addresses them, including:
– Maintaining flight visibility: You will see the OpsControl Flight Watch screen, with an Active Flights list showing each flight’s city pair, current altitude, departure and arrival times and progress bar. Selecting a flight opens live data including ATD, ETA, altitude, vertical speed, track, squawk, position and tracking source (such as ADS-B). You will see the planned route plotted against the actual track, together with a vertical profile chart of the flight.
– Managing information from multiple sources: You will learn how OpsControl brings tracking feeds, weather, METAR, TAF and NOTAM data together in one place, so dispatchers no longer have to jump between separate tools and websites.
– Dealing with weather and NOTAM changes: You will see how weather radar overlays and color-coded departure, destination and alternate indicators highlight a developing problem early. You will also see how configurable weather thresholds for visibility, ceiling, wind speed, gusts and phenomena are flagged when conditions approach operator limits, and how relevant NOTAMs are highlighted directly against each flight.
– Reducing information overload: You will see how the flight list and status indicators show only what matters. Flights that are running to plan stay quiet, while those affected by weather, NOTAMs or other changes are clearly marked.
– Management by Exception: You will learn how this approach lets OCC teams focus their attention on the flights and events that require action. It helps them respond faster, reroute effectively and protect schedule integrity, all the way through landing, taxi-in and into OpsControl PostFlight for post-flight analysis.
About the Aircraft IT Webinar Series:
Every 2 weeks the Aircraft IT website hosts a different live Webinar, each Webinar hosted by a different IT Vendor. These sessions represent the perfect opportunity to learn about a software solution in a more informal manner and to quickly gain an in-depth knowledge of all the major systems on the market, all from the comfort of your own office or home with no sales pressure.
The IT vendor provides a live software demonstration/masterclass of their solution and explains how it can benefit airlines, MROs, Operators, OEMs, Leasing Companies. Once logged on, online delegates can ask questions via the interactive sections of the Webinar or simply sit back and watch and listen to the demonstration. There are two sessions during the day, each differently times to accommodate all time zones.
Each Webinar session is recorded, and an On-Demand version is then posted back to the Aircraft IT website a few days after the live session to allow you to view the content again with your colleagues. The library of On-Demand Webinar recordings provides an invaluable reference source of Flight Operations software demonstrations from the World’s leading Flight Operations IT Vendors.
