This system tracks and stores employee attendance and labor collection using touch-screens (clocks). The clocks are not only used for data input but they are also capable of various data inquiries such as daily and weekly attendance, used and remaining benefit time, work order and work card related information, status of awaiting parts, available employees, checked-out tools and their locations …etc. Clocks support data entry by barcode readers, on-screen keyboards and physical keyboards. A regular clock-in can be done by simply scanning the employee badge and the work card barcode without any keystroke.
The data captured by the system is later used to determine billable hours worked by the employee as well as the billable hours that can be charged to the customer. Straight, overtime and premium time calculation logic can be different for payroll and billing if requested. Employee benefit request and approval processes are also managed through Labor Collection & Employee Attendance system using both clocks and regular workstations.
The employee attendance and labor collection hours are calculated real time, enabling the technicians to review their daily and weekly hours at any given time via the touch screens. Payroll and billing departments can always make manual adjustments, all of which can be audited if necessary.
Labor Collection and Employee Attendance system also keeps track of the personal employee data such as emergency contact information, default and assigned departments and crews, titles, skills, ranks and job descriptions. All of this personal data is automatically shared with other systems and used for reporting purposes, resource allocation and employee authorizations.
Another function of this system is the ability to handle flexible off days as well as shifts, which is a critical requirement for companies operating 24/7. It is possible to define default schedules at the company and assigned department levels. These schedules are later used to automatically generate each employee’s daily schedules, which can be overwritten at the employee level if necessary. These pre-generated schedules, which also take the employee benefits into consideration, let the planning department make employee availability projections.
