Ramco Aviation to power Scandinavia’s leading Helicopter MRO provider, Patria Helicopters AB (PHAB)

Ramco Aviation to power Scandinavia’s leading Helicopter MRO provider, Patria Helicopters AB (PHAB)

Stockholm, Sweden/ Chennai, India – May 25, 2016 –
Ramco Systems, the global Aviation software provider on Cloud, Mobile & Tablets, today announced that it has secured an order from Patria Helicopters AB (PHAB), the authorized service centre in the Nordic region for mixed fleet of AgustaWestland, Bell and Airbus Helicopters to implement Ramco Aviation on Cloud.

Patria Helicopters AB is Scandinavia’s leading helicopter MRO service and equipment centre, and is part of Finland-based Patria Group, that offers defence, security and aviation support services and technology solutions to Nordic and international defence and civil customers

PHAB will be implementing Ramco’s complete suite which includes Maintenance, Materials Management, MRO Sales, Engineering & Programs, Compliance & Quality, coupled with Finance & Accounting. With Mobile enabled features, Ramco Aviation Suite will help the company seamlessly track and monitor activities and inventory across its MRO and engineering services. The suite is expected to reduce costs, improve service and minimize revenue leakage for PHAB.

“We were using multiple disparate IT systems which often yielded inaccurate data and required extensive manual labour to rectify. This was potentially leading to revenue leakage as there was lack of visibility of parts, and components in stores vs sales and invoicing. With a mobile-ready completely integrated system from Ramco, we will be better equipped to address these challenges and benefit from a scalable, integrated and web-architected Cloud based system. A sound technology backbone will ultimately help us improve customer satisfaction with better visibility and quicker turnaround time,” said, Jouni Majuri, Managing Director, Patria Helicopters AB

Virender Aggarwal, CEO, Ramco Systems
, said, “Having built a strong track record in the global helicopter industry, we are delighted to have been chosen by Patria Helicopters. This partnership has expanded our reach in Europe’s MRO network, and underscores our position as the preferred next-gen vendor of choice in aviation MRO. Having recently set up a dedicated MRO Innovation Lab, we’re confident that Ramco’s advanced Aviation offerings, are all set to transform the Aerospace industry.”

With 70+ Aviation leaders onboard, Ramco is the solution of choice for several large airlines and top heli-operators and multiple MROs in the world. Designed to be accessible on cloud, mobile and tablets, Ramco Aviation Software continues to add technological innovations with wearable devices offering hands-free computing, and launch of ‘Anywhere’ apps amongst others that help significantly reduce transaction time both during AOG conditions and critical aircraft turnarounds.

Ethiopian Airlines opts for Safran’s SFCO2® service

Ethiopian Airlines opts for Safran’s SFCO2® service

Paris, May 25, 2016 – Ethiopian Airlines has chosen Safran’s SFCO2® service, jointly developed by two of its companies, Safran Aircraft Engines and Safran Electronics & Defense. Designed to reduce fuel consumption, the service will be deployed in 2016 and will cover the entire fleet deployed by the Ethiopian flag carrier, based in Addis Ababa.

Fuel is the leading expense for an airline, accounting for 25 to 30% of its direct operating costs. In addition to reducing fuel consumption through technological innovation, Safran is exploring another path via its SFCO2 service, namely the implementation of best operating practices.

SFCO2 addresses airlines’ need to reduce fuel consumption by analyzing both maintenance and flight operations. The service combines Safran Aircraft Engines’ expertise as a leading aircraft engine manufacturer and service provider with Safran Electronics & Defense’s long experience in flight data analysis. In short, SFCO2 allows airlines to improve their fleets’ operational efficiency.

“This latest agreement extends the partnership we have developed with Ethiopian Airlines over the last thirteen years,” noted François Planaud, head of the Services and MRO Division at Safran Aircraft Engines. “We are very proud that Ethiopian has chosen this Safran service, which will considerably reduce their annual fuel bill.”

Safran’s specialized SFCO2 teams will submit a report to Ethiopian Airlines including personalized recommendations for improvements in its operating procedures. These teams will also focus on raising the awareness of the different persons involved, in terms of how their respective activities impact fleet fuel consumption, and supporting any required change management measures. In addition to this dedicated customer support, Ethiopian Airlines has unlimited access to an online app that allows it to track its progress and identify remaining potential savings, among other features.

The Ethiopian flag carrier is a CFM International* customer since it began operating two Boeing 737-700 twinjets, powered by CFM56-7B engines, in 2003. Today, Ethiopian Airlines operates a young fleet of 76 aircraft.

* CFM International is a 50/50 joint company between Safran Aircraft Engines and GE that produces the CFM56 and LEAP engines.

airberlin takes off with AMOS

airberlin takes off with AMOS

 At a glance
–    AMOS satisfies complex business needs
–    Use of AMOS Multi-Financial-Entity capabilities
–    Excellent cooperation between airberlin and Swiss-AS

Approximately two years ago the airberlin group decided to replace its legacy system and to implement AMOS as the best fit to support the maintenance and engineering activities of the group. Austrian based carrier NIKI, a member of the airberlin group and an AMOS customer since 2006, encouraged the selection of AMOS. Now, since April 2016, all members of the airberlin group (airberlin, NIKI, Belair and airberlin Technik) take full advantage of the wide spectrum of AMOS functions to fulfill the complex business requirements of the group.

Another group relying on AMOS Multi-Financial-Entity capabilities
The airberlin group is an additional AMOS customer who relies on the AMOS Multi-Financial-Entity capabilities which were designed to allow airline groups to share one AMOS productive environment but still maintain and monitor the financial data of each entity within the group separately.

Excellent cooperation during implementation
The project was well managed by the airberlin and Swiss-AS teams to satisfy a range of complex tasks such as data migration, data harmonization between the different entities, and the detailed definition of the future processes employed by the group. Thanks to an excellent cooperation between the parties, AMOS was successfully implemented within the allocated time and budget frame, including its full integration with the Finance and OPS applications.

“It is wonderful to have the airberlin group on board and additional proof that our continuous software developments constantly attract new customers” expressed Ronald Schaeuffele, CEO of Swiss-AS.

Gogo Business Aviation Expands Gogo Cloud Service In Europe

Gogo Business Aviation Expands Gogo Cloud Service In Europe

Paris’ Le Bourget airport is first to be equipped with wireless content delivery network for Gogo Vision

GENEVA – 25 May 2016 – EBACE (stand D051) Gogo Inc. (NASDAQ: GOGO), the leading provider of in-flight connectivity and wireless in-flight entertainment solutions to the global aero market, today announced that Gogo Cloud, the company’s wireless content delivery network, is expanding into Europe with service available at select locations.

Gogo Cloud is currently available at the Jetex FBO at Paris-Le Bourget Airport (LFPB), and will be installed at two additional FBOs in the United Kingdom by the end of August 2016: London City Airport Jet Centre (LCY) and TAG Farnborough Airport (FAB) located just outside central London.

All three are key strategic locations in two of Europe’s largest and most important cities for business travellers. Paris-Le Bourget was the busiest business aviation airport in Europe last year with more than 50,000 movements, and TAG Farnborough consistently ranks in the top five busiest business airports in Europe. Additional FBOs will be added in Europe throughout 2017.

“Gogo Cloud is about ease of use and peace of mind because the service is automatic delivering large data files to aircraft ensuring a quality in-flight entertainment experience,” said John Wade, executive vice president and general manager for Gogo Business Aviation. “Our customers in Europe have heard how well the service works in the U.S. and wanted us to bring it across the Atlantic. What we’re announcing today at EBACE is the start of an expansion that will spread to other locations across Europe.”

The first service of its kind in the business aviation market, Gogo Cloud allows customers of Gogo Vision – the company’s in-flight entertainment (IFE) service – to automatically receive the latest updates whenever they visit a Gogo Cloud location. Gogo Vision serves up a licensed library of the hottest Hollywood movies and TV shows. It also includes features such as news, a flight tracker, flight progress information, destination weather, screen sharing, and in-cabin file transfer.

When an aircraft arrives at a Gogo Cloud location, Gogo’s UCS 5000 smart-cabin system automatically connects to the Gogo Cloud Wi-Fi signal and does a complete content update without any intervention from the flight crew. The transfer takes place at ultra-high speed – typically less than 60 seconds to load a 30-minute TV episode, and about three minutes for a feature-length movie. The UCS 5000 system is business aviation’s first all-in-one smart router/media server.

Gogo Cloud Available for Individual Flight Department Facilities

Equipment packages are also available to individual flight departments that want to bring the convenience of Gogo Vision IFE updates to their own facilities. A simple equipment package, which is included with a UCS smart-cabin system purchase, turns a hangar into a Gogo Cloud location providing continuous, fully automatic updates any time their aircraft is at that location.

This week, Gogo Business Aviation is displaying its complete range of in-flight connectivity and entertainment solutions at EBACE2016. Business aircraft operators are invited to visit Gogo at stand D051. More information is available on Gogo’s EBACE 2016 landing page and by following @GogoBizAv on Twitter for in-show updates.

Bringing together two complementary cloud-based solutions, the partnership is expected to help ATP customers drive greater operational efficiencies, boost regulatory compliance, and improve collaboration with their customers, prospects, and partners.

With the partnership, ATP customers will be able to digitize and streamline the management of operating manuals, including the ability to author, distribute, and update content with vastly improved efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and control. “Both ATP and Web Manuals are helping the industry evolve through digitization and interconnectivity of workflows, processes, and data,” said Charles Picasso, who took the helm as ATP’s new CEO in 2015 to lead the company into a new era of growth. “It’s clear the rate of complexity and change in the industry will continue to rise. In order to keep pace with these changes, our customers will need to be more pro-active in managing their operating manuals and related documentation.”

This partnership enables aviation operators to evolve beyond outdated manual and paper-based processes in order to ensure regulatory compliance as well as operate more efficiently and cost-effectively. Synergistic benefits include:

– Streamline the Management of Operating Manuals – Enabling customers to proactively manage their operating manuals and other documents with greater efficiency and control

– Improve Collaboration with Customers, Prospects and Partners – Enabling customers to easily share and collaborate on documents online with their customers, prospects and partners

A fast-growing company based in Sweden, Web Manuals is widely adopted by aircraft operators worldwide and counts a number of maintenance organizations as current customers — both independent MROs as well as European CAMO and Part 145 organizations working within larger operations. The company recently expanded into the US with a new office in San Diego, CA, operating under Web Manuals Inc., the company’s US subsidiary.

“We have a proven track record of helping our clients enhance control, compliance and agility with our solutions, and are excited about the opportunity to build on our reputation as the market leader in Europe,” said Martin Lidgard, CEO and founder of Web Manuals. “We’ve already gained significant traction in the US and are confident that we will be able to accelerate our momentum through this partnership with ATP.”

ATP will be offering Web Manuals’ functionality through the ATP Aviation Hub™ cloud application, which streamlines maintenance workflows and improves processes with anywhere, anytime access to ATP Libraries, ATP Parts, ATP Maintenance, and the AskBob™ AMT Community.
