SmartLynx Airlines selects Conduce eTechLog8 Software

Conduce Group Limited is pleased to announce that it has partnered with SmartLynx Airlines to carry

out field trials of the Conduce eTechLog8 software application. The eTechLog8 application uses toughpad

or tablet hardware and eliminates the paper technical log when fully adopted. The solution has

all the required tech log book functionalities on the device and is supported by a fully functioning web

application back end to manage all line maintenance activities for the aircraft whilst in operational

service.

The product has been developed and designed to improve ramp turnaround efficiency resulting in

improvements in OTP (On Time Performance) and to ensure that all the required information is shared

to all parties in near to real time. This enhances overall operational performance through the use of

accurate and up to date information which aids correct decision making in relation to that aircraft’s

current technical status.

SmartLynx will complete the trial on a selected A320 aircraft operating in Europe. The Latvian and

Estonian CAA have given a positive reaction to the concept of using eTechLog8 technology to enhance

the airlines’ efficiency along with improving technical data integrity and quality. Successful

completion of the field trial will lead to SmartLynx seeking full regulatory approvals from the Latvian

and Estonian aviation authorities for the removal of the aircraft paper technical log page from the

aircraft. Such a step forward will enhance SmartLynx’s operation as an ACMI provider and improve

the services given to its customers. The full project would include integration with SmartLynx’s

Commsoft OASES MRO software and IFS EFB solution.

Icelandair saves more fuel by partnering with OpenAirlinesIcelandair has signed a partnership agreement with OpenAirlines in order to monitor its fuel consumption and develop best practice solutions for its operation.

 

OpenAirlines, a French innovative company, has implemented SKYBREATHE FUEL EFFICIENCY a software solution to help airlines all over the world achieve important savings (from 1% to 4 %) on their fuel costs.


This software is the outcome of 5 years of R&D conducted jointly with airlines, OEMs and Aeronautics Universities, and leveraging the Clean Sky research program. The company has developed algorithms to quickly analyze all the flights of an airline and propose fuel savings solutions.

Waterloo, ON – January 27, 2015 – Navtech, a leader in flight operations software and services, announces a new addition to the leadership team, Shawn Mechelke, as Vice President of SaaS Products and Business Development. He brings to Navtech over 20 years of aviation experience working in both airline and software industries.

In this new role at Navtech, Shawn will be responsible for leading the production and delivery of timely, cost effective and high quality products and services to Navtech’s customers.  He will oversee Navtech’s SaaS products which include Navtech Flight Plan, Crew Planning and Aircraft Performance. In addition, Shawn will be responsible for developing external partnerships and channel and merger and acquisition strategies in support of the overall business plan.

Prior to joining Navtech, Shawn was the Vice President and General Manager of Schneider Electric (formerly Telvent DTN, Meteorlogix, and Kavouras). In this role, he led the strategy and development of decision support software solutions for the Aviation, Energy, and Transportation markets for Schneider Electric’s commercial weather business.

Before joining Schneider Electric, Shawn was the Director Operations Solutions at Sabre Holdings where he was responsible for Sabre’s flight planning and ACARS datalink management solutions. There he developed and executed the strategy to acquire F:WZ flight planning company in Vienna, Austria.  Following the acquisition he was the Managing Director of F:WZ.

Shawn began his aviation career at ATA Airlines where he held several positions as aircraft dispatcher, supervisor, trainer, and manager. He managed global flight dispatch operations for scheduled service, charter, and military operations. Shawn holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Aeronautical Studies with a minor in Meteorology from the University of North Dakota.  He has an MBA from Clayton State University. Passionate about aviation, Shawn obtained his FAA commercial pilot license with instrument rating and is also a FAA licensed aircraft dispatcher.

A third Airbus Helicopters subsidiary chose Aero One® to manage its Part145 activity
