2. The Back End: How is this information created and managed in the background; the Documentation / Manual Revision Cycle.
In order to generate these benefits, the manuals and documents must be continuously revised and published in a standard format. The as live demonstration section of the Webinar then shows you a step-by-step guide on how to manage the revision cycle of flight operations manuals using the powerful XML based TCToolbox software solution.
Following the processes used by airlines such as Germania, TUIfly and others, and using live demonstrations of the TCToolbox and ARC-Desk software solutions, you are taken on a step-by-step guide on how to create, manage, and publish dynamic flight operations manuals:
Step 1: Collect Information – Change Requests:
You see how to collect change requests (from OEMs, Regulators or a change in company policy) for a new manual and decide whether the information is critical and will have to be incorporated into a revised manual. This task is carried out in an easy to use web portal (ARC-Desk) and no XML knowledge is needed.
Step 2: Manual / Documentation Revisions and Configuration:
Next you see how to integrate the change requests into the manual using the easy to use administration interface of TCToolbox powered by XML, inc: standard templates and easy-to-navigate document tree structure. As you will see, this process is carried out by documentation experts in the XML CMS TCToolbox.
Step 3: Manage Changes – Review and Approve:
After the integration of approved change requests the manual is pushed to ARC-Desk for review and approval, including: highlighted changes, original change request attached, automatic notifications for reviewers – no XML knowledge is required. As you will see, it is possible to streamline the approval process and to define a set of consecutive or parallel review and approval cycles, e.g. 1) internal approval, 2) FOSC approval, 3) approves by the national aviation authority.
Step 4: Release and Publication:
Once all necessary approvals have been given, the manual is released and published and is immediately available in a number of different formats and can be pushed out to EFB devices; Flight and Cabin crew Tablet devices; as well as via a Web document or PDF.
