Webinar Overview

Register to view this On-Demand Webinar (recorded 1st October 2020) and join the aircraft connectivity, communications and datalink specialists at SITA FOR AIRCRAFT as they walk you through their portfolio of Unified Aircraft Communications (UAC) solutions, which provide airlines worldwide with aircraft connectivity as a service. As you will see UAC supports multiple technology and connectivity options, and airlines can choose the solution that best fits their needs, from bringing real-time aircraft tracking capabilities onboard to enhance airline applications and automating the air/ground exchange of flight voice and data communications, to harnessing new generation IP links – bolstering capacity in the datalink ecosystem, for sending critical operational messages. You will see practical examples of how these solutions are being deployed during these challenging times, even through the pandemic, to provide airlines with support towards recovery, including:

  • Simplicity of multilink message delivery across consistent and existing communication networks
  • Intelligent ground management for seamless data and messages distribution
  • A fully managed end-to-end service with Service Level consistency
  • Low customer impact implementation with components deployed on a scalable infrastructure

The Webinar will feature an overview of the recently launched AoIPConnect®, the industry’s first ACARS over cellular service, which, as you will see, assists airlines to optimize the use of cellular, and in the near future, cabin link, capacity for non-critical data offloads. As you will see, AoIPConnect®, makes it possible for carriers to use these alternative, cost-effective network links on the ground, instead of radio. It is designed to be fully integrated within the industry’s established aircraft datalink communications ecosystem and enables aircraft operators to make use of these other links. As you will also see, all ACARS services are handled seamlessly, from monitoring and support to delivering complete visibility, and monthly traffic and performance reports.

You will then see an overview of new solutions being developed specifically to support communications, message management and real-time activity reporting, including: MyFleet Cockpit, designed to provide airlines with complete visibility on Datalink services. Also, you will see how airlines can get the most of the popular eWAS Pilot Weather Awareness App by using it with ACARS over IP connectivity, providing pilots with total weather awareness in real-time at any time of flight, including last hour lightning impacts and even the airline’s PIREPs along the route

The Webinar is divided into three key segments:

  1. ACARS over IP (AoIPConnect®) and United Aircraft Communications (UAC) Solutions Overview
The Webinar will begin with an overview of the portfolio of United Aircraft Communications (UAC) solutions, providing airlines worldwide with aircraft connectivity as a service, and how these solutions can be deployed to support pandemic recovery. Next you will see the recent SITA FOR AIRCRAFT AoIPConnect® solution as airlines continue to express an interest in innovative ACARS terrestrial cellular options as part of their overall aircraft communications strategy. As you will see the AoIPConnect® airline launch programs are now underway with Cebu Pacific in Asia, Wizz Air in Europe and most recently, Azul Brazilian Airlines in South America, all adopting the solution.
  1. Demo 1: SITA FOR AIRCRAFT MyFleet Cockpit – Complete Visibility on Datalink Services
SITA FOR AIRCRAFT MyFleet Cockpit is a new portal providing complete visibility on Datalink service for airlines. This platform will help airlines to gain efficiency by offering quick access to the customer’s Datalink configuration, service status, quality of service and statistics reports. In the webinar you will see a demo of the key features of the portal, which will soon be available.
  1. Demo 2: eWAS Pilot App – Enhanced Weather Awareness Solution, using ACARS over IP
Finally you will see how to get the most out of eWAS Pilot when using it with ACARS over IP connectivity. eWAS Pilot can be used without connectivity during flight, but having it connected through ACARS over IP allows airlines to get total weather awareness at any time of flight. With SITA FOR AIRCRAFT’s very-low-data consumption transmission system, airlines receive all the Nowcast information from multiple providers. You will see how using the eWAS App, pilots receive all CB Satellite observations, last hour lightning impacts and even the airline’s PIREPs along the route, improving the overall safety of all flights.

About the Aircraft IT Webinar Series:

Every 2 weeks the Aircraft IT website hosts a different live Webinar, each Webinar hosted by a different IT Vendor. These sessions represent the perfect opportunity to learn about a software solution in a more informal manner and to quickly gain an in-depth knowledge of all the major systems on the market, all from the comfort of your own office or home with no sales pressure.

The IT vendor provides a live software demonstration/masterclass of their solution and explains how it can benefit airlines, MROs, Operators, OEMs, Leasing Companies. Once logged on, online delegates can ask questions via the interactive sections of the Webinar or simply sit back and watch and listen to the demonstration. There are two sessions during the day, each differently times to accommodate all time zones.

Each Webinar session is recorded, and an On-Demand version is then posted back to the Aircraft IT website a few days after the live session to allow you to view the content again with your colleagues. The library of On-Demand Webinar recordings provides an invaluable reference source of MRO software demonstrations from the World’s leading Flight Operations IT Vendors.
