Register to attend this Webinar to see how airlines and operators are replacing paper technical logbooks and legacy systems, via a demo of the modern eTechlog solution from REDiFly, a user-focused Electronic Technical Logbook that improves operational visibility and ensures crews and maintenance teams are working from accurate, up-to-date aircraft information. As you will see, the solution is built on a modern, scalable platform with open APIs, runs across multiple platforms and integrates seamlessly with existing operational and maintenance systems, supporting long-term flexibility as the user’s IT platform evolves. During the Webinar, the REDiFly team will walk through an end-to-end operational demo, following a typical sector and turnaround. You will see how pilots, cabin crew, and maintenance teams capture and share data in real time, from pre-flight inspections and journey logging through to defect reporting, rectification, and sign-off. The demos will focus on real scenarios and decision points to show how the eTechlog supports pilots during high-pressure moments, provides early visibility for MCC and CAMO, and gives management teams a clean, real-time view of fleet status. The session will also highlight common challenges such as tight turnarounds, incomplete defect information, and manual handovers, demonstrating how digital workflows improve coordination and reduce delays.
You will also see how the eTechlog fully replaces traditional paper workflows, with advanced features such as offline capability, automatic sync to ground systems, pilot defect logging through an integrated and searchable MEL, clear structural damage recording using digital dent and buckle workflows, automated flight tracking, digital maintenance actions and sign-offs, and real-time defect visibility as well as seamless integration with MRO, CAMO, scheduling, and ERP systems, all while generating audit-ready, compliant records that simplify regulatory oversight. Finally, the REDiFly team will also share practical guidance on regulatory approval, change management, and integrating the eTechlog with your existing systems giving you a realistic understanding of what a successful implementation looks like and the steps involved.
The Webinar is divided into the following four key sections:
1. REDiFly ELB/ETL System Overview; System Architecture and Integrations; Logbook Challenges:
The Webinar will begin with an introduction to REDiFly and the development of the ETL/ELB system. Built on a modern, scalable platform with open APIs, the solution runs across multiple platforms and integrates seamlessly with existing operational and maintenance systems (MRO, CAMO, scheduling, and ERP systems), supporting long-term flexibility as theuser’s organization evolves. The system enables secure, two-way data exchange across any operational ecosystem, ensuring all teams work from a single, real-time source of truth. You will see the following key features:
- User Roles & Accessibility: including multi-platform support (iOS, Windows, Android), individual user login and digital signatures for authentication, secure audit trails, and offline capability with controlled synchronization to ensure operational continuity.
- Dashboard Features: showing aircraft status at a glance with real-time visibility across fleets; integration with third-party systems such as flight scheduling, MRO, and crew systems; and clear tracking of aircraft maintenance, defects, checks, and deferred items.
Traditional challenges with Technical logbooks:
In this section, the Webinar will highlight common challenges such as tight turnarounds, incomplete or inconsistent defect information, reliance on a single physical logbook, manual calculations and handwritten entries, duplicated data across systems, and limited real-time visibility for MCC and CAMO. These challenges can introduce delays, increase operational risk, and create unnecessary workload, demonstrating how digital workflows improve coordination and reduce disruption.
2. ETL/ELB Demo 1: Pre-flight, Post-flight, and Defect Logging:
Next, using a typical flight and turnaround as an example, you’ll see how pilots, cabin crew, and maintenance teams capture and share operational and airworthiness data in real time, from pre-flight inspections and journey logging through to defect reporting, rectification, and sign-off, including:
- Pre-flight Inspection: covering mandatory checklists, built-in validations, and compliance features, plus digital submission with automated synchronization to the ground system, providing early visibility for MCC and CAMO before aircraft arrival.
- Defect Logging & MEL Integration: how pilots can log defects via an integrated and searchable MEL (Minimum Equipment List), attach images, record detailed information and severity levels, and how technicians can review, defer, or rectify defects, including digital Dent & Buckle recording.
- Deferred Defect Management: demonstrating structured workflows for deferring defects based on MEL procedures, automatic population of ATA codes, expiry dates, and ongoing compliance tracking.
3. ETL/ELB Demo 2: Ground System – Real-Time Fleet Monitoring, Defect Tracking:
Next, you will see a demo of the ground system with advanced real-time fleet status monitoring, reporting, and data export capabilities to support both daily operations and long-term planning:
- Real-Time Fleet Monitoring: aircraft availability and maintenance status, color-coded prioritization, automated notifications and escalation workflows for faster operational response.
- Defect & Maintenance Tracking: centralized defect records with images, technician input, and full history; scheduled maintenance tracking; deferred defect ageing and expiry monitoring; and structured structural damage tracking through digital Dent & Buckle workflows.
- Reliability & Trend Insights: defect trend analysis, operational data visibility, and integration with Power BI to support reliability programs and proactive maintenance planning.
- Reports & Data Exports: exportable reports (Excel, PDF, CSV), customizable formats for regulatory compliance, and advanced dashboards to support oversight and decision-making.
- User & Role Management: configurable user roles and permissions, automated notifications, and controlled access across departments.
4. Implementation and regulatory approval:
Finally, the REDiFly team will share practical guidance on regulatory approval, change management, and system integration, providing a realistic understanding of what a successful transition looks like and the steps involved. Drawing on experience supporting operators through authority approvals, this section will demonstrate how to minimize disruption and accelerate time to value, including:
- CAA Approval Process: overview of regulatory requirements and structured steps to ensure compliance with aviation authorities.
- Implementation Plan: a phased and structured transition from paper to digital to minimize operational disruption.
- Implementation Process: step-by-step guidance on system deployment, integration, and organizational adoption.
- Training and Support: comprehensive onboarding, ongoing training, and dedicated support to maximize long-term success.
About the Aircraft IT Webinar Series:
Every 2 weeks the Aircraft IT website hosts a different live Webinar, each Webinar hosted by a different IT Vendor. These sessions represent the perfect opportunity to learn about a software solution in a more informal manner and to quickly gain an in-depth knowledge of all the major systems on the market, all from the comfort of your own office or home with no sales pressure.
The IT vendor provides a live software demonstration/masterclass of their solution and explains how it can benefit airlines, MROs, Operators, OEMs, Leasing Companies. Once logged on, online delegates can ask questions via the interactive sections of the Webinar or simply sit back and watch and listen to the demonstration. There are two sessions during the day, each differently times to accommodate all time zones.
Each Webinar session is recorded, and an On-Demand version is then posted back to the Aircraft IT website a few days after the live session to allow you to view the content again with your colleagues. The library of On-Demand Webinar recordings provides an invaluable reference source of Flight Operations software demonstrations from the World’s leading Flight Operations IT Vendors.
