Webinar Overview

Register to view this On-Demand Webinar (recorded 25th January 2024) to see the latest developments in Digital Twin technology for aviation, powered by Generative AI (ChatGPT, Large Language Models – LLMs, ML), with a demo of Digital FinTwin solution from KeepFlying, designed to provide airlines, lessors, and MROs with the tools needed to generate aircraft, engine, or component specific what-if simulations to model future scenarios. During the Webinar KeepFlying experts will show how their platform easily integrates with existing ERP, MRO/M&E systems and other digital data sources, plus uses LLM technology to extract and ingest crucial information from additional vast maintenance, airworthiness, and operational datasets, even from scattered or poorly formatted data. You will then see Digital FinTwin demos showing use cases for airlines, lessors, and MROs on how this data, can be used to model future scenarios, including increasing maintenance slot profitability, optimizing inventory and spare parts, minimizing aircraft / engine lease redelivery costs, and optimizing hangar and shop visits including task cards; as well as specific aircraft and asset revenue and trading scenarios such as lease extensions, part-outs, and P2F conversions.  You will also see a demo of the new ChatGPT ‘SkyBot’ and how it interprets Airworthiness and Maintenance back to birth records in a matter of minutes to optimize aircraft transitions or assist to evaluate the applicability of any modifications and their commercial impact.

KeepFlying® experts will then demo two Digital FinTwin®solutions. Firstly, you will see the FinTwin® Aircraft or Engine Owner / Lessor Edition which generates scenarios used to maximize the revenue potential for and mitigate potential risks to an Asset over its Remaining Useful Life (RUL). For example, what will happen if maintenance checks are reduced, or the aircraft is flown at a higher thrust rating, or in a more corrosive environment? How will that effect RUL, as well as impact key factors such as LLPs, maintenance reserves, etc. How does this impact redelivery of an Engine given the contractual redelivery conditions that the asset needs to comply with?  You will also see how the solution optimizes inventory and spare part planning and costs. Secondly, you will see the Edition, which allows MRO Facilities to model different hangar and shop visit scenarios, such as variations in work scopes and non-routines, ahead of the arrival of the aircraft, engine or components, predicting scrap rates of components before the Engine comes in to shop in order to plan ahead, maximize profitability and reduce turnaround time.

The webinar is split into six key sections:

  • Overview of KeepFlying® FinTwin® and Airworthiness & Maintenance Data LLM Ready
First you will see a high-level overview of the Digital FinTwin solutions: the Aircraft or Engine Owner / Lessor Edition, as well as the Edition for MRO Facilities.  You will discover how Aviation Data Science and Explainable AI can augment streams of historic and dynamic data to visualize the revenue potential of aircraft and assets over their Remaining Useful Life (RUL) and simulate asset hangar and Shop visit profitability using discrete optimization models.

Next you will learn about the latest technologies used to power the KeepFlying Digital FinTwin platform, including Large Language Models (LLMs).  Complex Airworthiness and Maintenance Records have traditionally been interpreted by experienced Aviation professionals to understand the status of an Aircraft, Engine or Component. While human experience can never be replaced, how can the KeepFlying® Aviation tuned Language Models allow Airlines, Lessors and MROs to have their data ecosystem ready to be consumed by LLMs that can offer great ROI across their business functions? How does KeepFlying® tune these LLMs to each Aircraft and Engine type?

  • Demo 1: Managing Aircraft / Engine Transitions & Commercial Impact | Redeliveries
Airlines spend on an average over US$ 2M in additional costs as part of a narrow-body redelivery. Over 40% of this is accounted for due to unstructured technical records review, interpretation and impact on escalations. How can KeepFlying® platform bring these costs down?

In this section, you will see how ’wrangled’ data is used as a basis to exchange information using ATA Specifications between Lessors, Operators, MROs, and Supply Chain vendors. How can Airlines and Lessors interpret complex unstructured records to assess the commercial impact as an Aircraft / Engine transition from ’as-is’ to ’to-be-delivered’ statuses.

Key features you will see include:

    – ATA Spec2500 User Interface for Records Transfer
    – Transitions Cost Management and Cost-Benefit Analysis
    – Redelivery Management, Risks and Commercial Estimates

  • Demo 2: Engine FinTwin® – Lessor or Engine Owner Edition | Scrap Rate Prediction, Maintenance Economics Forecasting
Engine PPIs and Trade Due Diligence around records can consume, on average, US$50k per engagement. Interpreting Engine back-to-birth records, especially if the engine has flown across different operators, environments and thrust ratings, is a time-consuming process. How can KeepFlying® bring these costs down and simulate, forecast maintenance economics?

Next you will see the Engine FinTwin® – Lessor / Aircraft or Engine Owner edition demo focusing on maximizing the revenue potential of an Engine over its Remaining Useful Life (RUL). This edition focuses on tracking residual life of Engines and Components as a factor of projected usage (Utilization, Environment, Severity, Stub Loss) and monitoring projected cashflows as a factor of direct maintenance costs, contracts, LLPs, scraps, and rentals.

    Key features you will see:

    – Consuming PDF Engine Packs automatically
    – Asset Maintenance Value Manager – Full and Half Life
    – LLP Manager
    – Scrap Rates Prediction
    – Maintenance Reserves Manager
    – Shop Visit Forecasts
    – Engine Redelivery Manager

  • Demo 3: FinTwin® – Engine MRO Edition | Work Scope Escalations Predictions, Slot Profitability Forecasting
Engine MROs achieve an average slot profitability of anywhere between 5-8% (when times are good). Data driven techniques in KeepFlying® can help MROs realize a slot profitability of around 13%, which can translate to over US$250k in bottom line revenue per engine overhaul. How can KeepFlying® add value across Engine MRO functions from Commercial to Engineering across the Shop Floor Gates?

In this section, you will see the FinTwin® – Engine MRO edition demo focusing on how profitability of Engine Shop Visits Visits can be visualized and maximized prior to Engine arrival in shop using advanced forecasting techniques (configured for each Engine Type) and a Discrete Optimization Planning framework.

    Key features you will see:

    – Engine Shop Visit Simulation
    – Impact of Operational Parameters (TSN, CSN, TSLV, CSLV, Rating, Average Min. Thrust Derate, SFC, EGT Margin) on Man Hours forecasting
    – Shop Visit Cost and Profitability Forecasting
    – Engine Cost Build Up Tracking from Pre-Gate 0 until delivery
    – TAT Risk Management
    – Discrete Optimization Planner
    – Dynamic Capacity Planner
    – Scrap Rate predictions
    – Work Scope Escalations Management

  • Demo 4: FinTwin® – Aircraft Asset Owner Edition | Dynamic Replenishment and Inventory Cost Optimization, Managing AOG Risks
In an environment of Supply Chain bottlenecks and procurement constraints, Airlines are finding the balance between Inventory Holding and Procurement TATs to dynamically replenish stock as a factor of forecasted demand by fleet and constrained supplies. Tracking SLAs against vendors and ensuring avoidance of AOG risks owing to part unavailability, or avoiding AOG procurement is what helps drive profitability.

In this section, you will see the FinTwin® – Aircraft Asset Owner Edition that shows how you can:

    – Streamline Inventory Holding and Carry Over costs through Optimized Stocking and Dynamic Replenishment
    – Minimize AOG Risks through optimized repair expediting
    – Derive Vendor Insights through rating functions based on procurement lead time, price, quality, and SLA monitoring through Large Language Models
