Webinar Overview

Register to attend this Webinar and join SkyPath as they demo the latest version of their innovative and unique real-time turbulence analysis, alerting, and reporting Apps, as used by airlines worldwide such as United, American Airlines, Emirates, Singapore Airlines, Japan Airlines, and more; with 125,000 pilots using the app, 9B turbulence reports, and more than 32 million Turbulence Alerts annually.  As you will see, SkyPath is a software only solution and does not require any aircraft integration. It is available as stand-alone Apps for pilots, dispatch, and management, or as an integrated layer in all leading EFB Apps, providing real-time en-route, graphically visualized turbulence reports, and vocal and text alerts warning of Turbulence ahead, alongside PIREPs.

During the Webinar, SkyPath experts will take you on demos of the solution, firstly from a pilot’s perspective for a typical flight using the flight deck App, followed by the new Web app, showing how dispatchers alert pilots regarding upcoming turbulence, and lastly a first look at an innovative new tool to help with annual and seasonal FLPN planning: Predictive Insights. As you will see, this groundbreaking and strategic planning tool gives safety and operations teams long-range visibility into turbulence patterns across the entire route network. The demos will also showcase the newest features in SkyPath (version 11). Firstly, a novel and new industry-leading turbulence data source based on ADS-B Vertical Rate. Next, Nowcasting, a predictive AI / ML powered model utilizing real-time turbulence observations and meteorological parameters to predict short-term turbulence, for up to 24 hours, with a detection rate of more than 90%, and much more.

You will also see a demo of SkyPath’s innovative and new GPS Interference Layer, developed by skAI Data Services, which transforms disruption into deliberate preparation, providing pilots and dispatch with real-time awareness of jamming and spoofing zones before the aircraft enters affected airspace. As you will see, the solution tracks aircraft reports, ADS-B anomalies, and signal analysis to create a dynamic global interference map. The data updates continuously as the global fleet encounters and reports new interference, ensuring crews always have the latest intelligence for their route, gaining immediate visibility into where navigation systems may be compromised, allowing them to maintain safety and operational control. Finally, the team will also showcase SkyPath’s new Contrails Layer, powered by Google AI, enabling pilots and airlines to visualize and avoid contrail formation before it happens. As you will see Google’s AI analyzes satellite imagery and atmospheric data to predict Ice Super-Saturated Regions where contrails persist and spread into artificial cirrus clouds. The forecast appears as an intuitive color-coded overlay showing environmental impact across the route.

The Webinar begins with a look at the challenges of increasing Turbulence frequency, before giving an overview of the solution.  You will see how SkyPath utilizes crowdsourcing technology to share Turbulence information in the aviation community. You will get an explanation on each of the unique and groundbreaking new Turbulence data sources that SkyPath has developed to improve pilots’ situational awareness with regard to Turbulence. The solution normalizes the Turbulence data, taking the airplane’s type into consideration (weight, wing length, etc.), that is served to the pilot in the most accessible way. As you will see, via case studies, SkyPath analyzed and found that 79% of Turbulence related injury events occurred in known Turbulence locations and that the Real-Time Turbulence Data App drives a 40-50% decrease in the number of injuries among SkyPath users.

With increasing frequency of Turbulence from global warming, you will see how SkyPath offers vital insights to both Pilots and Dispatchers, providing real-time Turbulence data and Turbulence predictions, enabling immediate action.

The Webinar is divided into three key sections:

  1. Overview of SkyPath; Industry Turbulence Problems; Latest Developments
First, the SkyPath team will outline the challenge of increasing Turbulence frequency, which is forecast to further increase in the next few years and become more severe. You will learn about the technology SkyPath is based on, using patented algorithms, AI and Machine Learning (ML) models to give pilots the best Situational Awareness regarding Turbulence and PIREPs. You will get a look at the solution’s ecosystem, as stand-alone Apps for pilots, dispatch, and management, or as an integrated layer in the leading EFB Apps. You will then see the latest developments and new features in Version 11, with new and novel Turbulence data sources. You will also see how pilots can report official PIREPs through the App. Lastly, the SkyPath team will provide a sneak peak of new capabilities they are working on.

  2. SkyPath Demo 2: Pilot App for Typical Flight – Flight Plan & Notifications
Next, you will see a SkyPath demo from a pilot’s perspective following a typical flight. You will see how Pilot’s use the App to upload a flight plan, get an overview of the flight ahead – through a ‘ride quality’ feature and a vertical view of the entire flight path. You will see how a pilot receives both vocal and pop-up notification of Turbulence ahead (even when the app is in the background), and you will see the different weather layers available through SkyPath and how to see the relevant weather information at different altitudes.

  3. SkyPath Demo 3: Pilot App for Typical Flight – GPS spoofing & jamming layer
You will also see a demo of SkyPath’s innovative GPS Interference Layer, developed by skAI Data Services, which transforms disruption into deliberate preparation, providing pilots and dispatch with real-time awareness of jamming and spoofing zones before the aircraft enters affected airspace. As you will see, the solution tracks aircraft reports, ADS-B anomalies, and signal analysis to create a dynamic global interference map. The data updates continuously as the global fleet encounters and reports new cases of interference, ensuring crews always have the latest intelligence for their route, gaining immediate visibility into where navigation systems may be compromised, allowing them to maintain safety and operational control.

  4. SkyPath Demo 4: Pilot App for Typical Flight – Contrails layer
Finally, the team will also showcase SkyPath’s new Contrails Layer, powered by Google AI, enabling pilots and airlines to visualize and avoid contrail formation before it happens. As you will see, Google’s AI analyzes satellite imagery and atmospheric data to predict Ice Super-Saturated Regions where contrails persist and spread into artificial cirrus clouds. The forecast appears as an intuitive color-coded overlay showing environmental impact across the route.

  5. SkyPath Demo 5: Web App for both Dispatch and Seasonal Planning
Finally you will see a demo of the SkyPath Web App which provides tools for dispatch teams displaying the same powerful turbulence data. The demo will show how a dispatcher, using the SkyPath Web App, manages their own desk showing the flights they are responsible for. You will see the value of the information SkyPath provides in route planning and flight monitoring, and how a dispatcher receives notifications for upcoming Turbulence in their flights’ routes. You will see the groundbreaking Predictive Insights tool in action, helping airlines with seasonal flight route planning, see reduced risk for turbulence.

About the Aircraft IT Webinar Series:

Every 2 weeks the Aircraft IT website hosts a different live Webinar, each Webinar hosted by a different IT Vendor. These sessions represent the perfect opportunity to learn about a software solution in a more informal manner and to quickly gain an in-depth knowledge of all the major systems on the market, all from the comfort of your own office or home with no sales pressure.

The IT vendor provides a live software demonstration/masterclass of their solution and explains how it can benefit airlines, MROs, Operators, OEMs, Leasing Companies. Once logged on, online delegates can ask questions via the interactive sections of the Webinar or simply sit back and watch and listen to the demonstration. There are two sessions during the day, each differently times to accommodate all time zones.

Each Webinar session is recorded, and an On-Demand version is then posted back to the Aircraft IT website a few days after the live session to allow you to view the content again with your colleagues. The library of On-Demand Webinar recordings provides an invaluable reference source of Flight Operations software demonstrations from the World’s leading Flight Operations IT Vendors.
