TAP Airbus A330neo

The third customer in 2019 successfully migrates its flight operations to our Operations Solution NetLine/Ops ++.

After many years of successful collaboration with TAP Air Portugal, the carrier has now successfully implemented our Operations Management Solutions NetLine/Ops ++ together with the Airport Slot Management Solution NetLine/Sched Short Term Mode. This will enable the airline to improve daily flight operations, continue to provide reliable services and contribute to enhancing the traveler experience.

TAP Air Portugal is the third airline, which migrates its operations to NetLine Ops ++ this year. The application monitors current flight operations and optimizes daily aircraft utilization. By implementing our solution, the carrier can react swiftly to flight irregularities and improve on-time performance through a more comprehensive overview of flight movement. It will also contribute to reducing operating costs for TAP Airlines and help to capitalize on staff productivity.

After the Flight Scheduling Solution NetLine/Sched was already implemented last year successfully, the Airport Slot Management add-on module NetLine/Sched Short Term Mode was successfully implemented simultaneously with the NetLine/Ops ++ cutover. In the Operations Control period Slot Management typically is just a necessity, which has to be done in a quick way without evaluating many alternatives. Therefore, a quick and easy way to generate and send SSIM chapter 6 slot messages is required. The NetLine/Sched Short Term Mode has been tailored to meet specific Operations Control requirements. It can be started directly from NetLine/Ops ++ and simplifies the process optimized for operational purposes.

“Carefully orchestrated by our collective project teams, the smooth and successful migration of NetLine/Sched Short Term Mode and NetLine/Ops ++,  was carried out in a timely and efficient manner, causing no disruptions to our airline services,” said Fábio Barros Director of Integrations Operations Control Centre of TAP Air Portugal, “The adoption of Lufthansa Systems’ solution contributes to our ongoing business success, as the application will provide our controllers with a complete overview of the status of flights and increase our network’s overall efficiency.”

TAP Air Portugal is the leading Portuguese airline, and a member of Star Alliance, the largest global alliance in the world since 2005.
