Canadian North – another customer for the AMOS Americas office
Canadian North is the second airline in the Americas region to join the AMOS community since the recent setting up of a USA office through a partnership deal of Swiss-AS and Lufthansa Systems.

After the expected 10 months implementation, the Canadian airline will be in the position to monitor all aspects of its MRO business operations on an end-to-end basis with AMOS. The approx. 100 users will be trained via a mixture of e-learning, on-the-job and class-room training.

“Canadian North is looking to streamline their processes and bring real efficiencies to their business, and after a detailed review process, identified AMOS as the best way to achieve this. I expect there to be many other companies in the region to follow suit,” says Daragh Cunningham, Lufthansa Systems Senior Director AMOS Americas.

Implementation “as-is” without customised developments
AMOS will be rolled out enterprise-wide and the functional richness of AMOS has convinced the airline’s management to implement the Swiss MRO software without any customisations. This approach ensures the incorporation of industry’s best practice processes which Swiss-AS offers. “With the selection of AMOS, we looked to consolidate several maintenance systems into an all-in-one program. AMOS was selected as it is a superior system that allows consolidation of nearly all aspects of our maintenance operations,” states Neal Liesemer, Canadian North Director of Maintenance.

About Canadian North
Canadian North’s corporate headquarters is in Yellowknife, being only 250 miles south of the Arctic Circle; and the operational headquarters is in Calgary, including the maintenance department. The Canadian airline offers scheduled passenger and cargo services in the Northwest Territories and Nunavut as well as charter operations throughout Canada and the U.S. Canadian North is 100% owned by Aboriginals and comprises a fleet of 11 x Boeing 737 and 4 x Dash 8, which is maintained in-house up to Line Maintenance and A Checks. During the more than 80 years of serving northern communities, the Canadian airline has perfectly adjusted to the special weather conditions in the north.

About Swiss AviationSoftware and AMOS
AMOS – developed and distributed by Swiss AviationSoftware – is a comprehensive, fully-integrated software package that successfully manages the maintenance, engineering and logistics requirements of modern airlines and MRO providers by fulfilling all airworthiness standards.

Swiss-AS is a 100% subsidiary of Swiss International Air Lines Ltd., and counts more than 100 customers worldwide to its loyal customer base, including pure operators of all sizes, major low-cost, regional and flag carriers, large airline groups and MRO providers.

The fact that none of them has ever replaced AMOS by another system speaks for itself. Swiss-AS’ AMOS is the industry-leading MRO software in Europe and one of the best-selling solutions world-wide. Swiss-AS has its headquarters in Basel, Switzerland, and is also represented in Miami, FL, USA through a cooperation with Lufthansa Systems.
