ASQS announced the collaboration with the Swedish air ambulance organisation Kommunalförbundet Svenskt Ambulansflyg (KSA).

The newly established alliance, Swedish Air Ambulance, is an association of the 21 Swedish provinces with the aim of providing equal access to quality healthcare for the Swedish population.

“By deciding to work with our integrated Safety and Quality Management System IQSMS, KSA takes a systematic approach to risk and safety from day one of operations. The possibility to centrally manage safety, risk and compliance management data with a single integrated tool was a contributing factor in KSA’s decision to implement IQSMS”

Lourdes Cervantes, Project Manager at ASQS

After a soft-operational start in November 2021 at Umeå Airport in northern Sweden, where the office and joint coordination are located, will be followed by Arlanda and Landvetter no later than February 2022. KSA has procured six Pilatus PC24 jets, as this is the ideal aircraft for unprepared short field operations. To maintain a high level of patient safety, Swedish Air Ambulance decided to implement the IQSMS standard set up, consisting of the Quality-, Risk- and Reporting Module, as well as the Flight Risk Modules and the offline Reporting and Auditor Apps.

A national air ambulance service is a positive development not only for the Swedish residents, but also for the aviation industry worldwide, as it demonstrates the tremendous value of coordination and coordinated use of shared resources.

“We are proud to contribute to this important progress and to support KSA with our aviation safety expertise in their goal to improve patient care and safety in the air medical service”

Günther Schindl, CEO at ASQS
