SITAONAIR named Best Global Connectivity Provider and Best Innovation in Commercial Airline Cabins with inflight Wi-Fi app

Aircraft Interiors Middle East, Dubai – 04 February 2016 –
SITAONAIR was awarded Best Global Connectivity Provider and Best Innovation in Commercial Airline Cabins at the Inflight IFEC Awards, announced today at the annual Middle East’s only aircraft interiors event, AIME.

SITAONAIR stood out for a number of reasons: it has the most airline customers in the Middle East and across the world, and its connectivity is suited to all aircraft types – already used on Qatar’s A350s, as well as Emirates’ B777s and A380s. In fact, SITAONAIR is on more than half of the world’s A380 fleet, so it clearly stood out as the leading e-Aircraft provider, setting the benchmark for true nose-to-tail solutions.

The judges were also very impressed with SITAONAIR’s latest generation inflight Wi-Fi app, rewarding it for enhancing the passenger experience. The app was awarded Best Innovation in Commercial Airline Cabins for its mobile-centric, clean and ergonomic design – making the experience hassle free and useful by contextualising and personalizing the user experience for each passenger.

Twenty-five airlines around the world currently provide SITAONAIR’s inflight Wi-Fi app, including eight in the Middle East.

“SITAONAIR was a clear front runner in each of the categories it has won an award for. What particularly impressed the judges was a combination of widespread coverage in the Middle East and the speed of connectivity solutions, as well as ease of installation, said Mark Howells, Owner of HMG Aerospace, the publisher of Inflight. “Connectivity goes beyond the cabin now, and SITAONAIR is keeping pace with the evolution of the market, ensuring aircrafts can be fully connected from nose to tail.”

“SITAONAIR has been at the forefront of the inflight connectivity sector since it began, and we are very pleased to be recognised for our focus on innovation, global reach and ability to operate on all aircraft. We are truly committed to delivering reliable service and enabling the e-Aircraft,” said David Lavorel, CEO of SITAONAIR. “We are committed to support the fast and innovative development of air transport in the Middle East. It is a real accolade to everyone at SITAONAIR, and of course to our airline customers.”

In total, SITAONAIR has nearly 400 airline customers operating more than 14,000 aircraft around the world. Whatever an airline’s connectivity needs, SITAONAIR has the relevant experience and expertise to deliver high-quality services here and now.
