Rusada to Support Flying Doctors

Royal Flying Doctor Service SE selects ENVISION nGen for maintenance information system

SYDNEY, Australia, 14th August 2018 – The Royal Flying Doctor Service has announced that it has chosen Rusada’s ENVISION nGen maintenance information system to support their aeromedical operations within the South Eastern Section.

The Royal Flying Doctor Service, is one of the largest and most complex aeromedical providers in the world and has a fleet of 66 aircraft and 23 aero-bases to cover their operational territory of 71.6 million km2.

General Manager of Aviation and Strategic Development in the RFDS South Eastern Section, David Charlton said: “In continuing to deliver our critical service to rural citizens across Australia, it is appropriate that in our 90th year we are adopting the latest innovations to ensure our fleet is maintained to the maximum level of operational readiness whilst achieving the highest safety standards.”

The scope of the project will include typical maintenance information system functionality like aircraft engineering management, parts and tooling, resource management and maintenance planning and forecasting.

Rusada’s system will also extend into other areas of The Royal Flying Doctor Service operations by integrating with their finance system and will also come with its own built-in Flight Operations solution.

Mr Charlton continued: “Rusada’s technology will help us gain greater visibility of our  maintenance process and wider operation giving us a truly end-to-end system”.

Julian Stourton, Rusada’s CEO said: “The Royal Flying Doctor Service has a truly awe-inspiring heritage within our industry and for Rusada to play a role in the future development of the service is something our team – who are all aviation enthusiasts – will take enormous pride in”.

Rusada’s ENVISION nGen technology will initially be used to manage the latest Beechcraft King Air 350 aircraft – which are scheduled for delivery later this year – before being rolled out to cover the rest of the fleet within the section.
