m/material is the manage/m® application that offers services for placing material requests online as well as for tracing requests, returns or repair orders through all stages of processing, shipping and receiving. With each request, material and shipping documents as well as the available interchangeability information are provided. This application has been newly designed, thus setting a milestone for material purchases worldwide.

Express orders, shopping carts, watch lists– ordering screws and oxygen bottles in the same order has never been as easy and pleasant as with the newly designed manage/m® application m/material. The online shop for rotable components (LRUs) and consumables and expendables (C&E) offers enhanced features for greater user-friendliness. It is intuitive to use, working in a fashion similar to the online storefronts of popular internet sellers. Seamlessly integrated into the manage/m® WebSuite, the new features share a common goal: speed and transparency.

One of many technical novelties is the possibility of ordering different materials through a combined ordering process, for example, using quick and automatic upload functions of a simple Excel list. Availabilities and prices for C&E items are displayed immediately. Selected orders and their status can be monitored on the integrated “watch list”. Other functions such as a “Fast Lane” enable users to dispatch an order in just four clicks.

Certificates like an EASA Form 1 and workshop reports concerning LRUs can be viewed, printed and downloaded from m/material even before the actual material arrives. Air Waybills and Proforma Invoices are also available via the new WebService.

As m/material is customizable for every client, no matter which way you choose to order, the system will automatically recognize whether the item is part of a Pool Contract. Both, the contact person at Lufthansa Technik and the customer’s contract data are held in the system. Thus, when ordering items, the system automatically complies with a customer’s contractual framework conditions. With this new application Lufthansa Technik has made yet another major step in the direction of oriented customer service.

Lufthansa Technik’s innovative and comfortable way of submitting material requests is already in use by almost140 customers, who all profit from this great experience of material supply management.
