Digitalization has transformed aircraft maintenance. Paper job cards have become electronic, records are increasingly digital, and information can now move almost instantly between the hangar, engineering and administration.

But replacing paper with a screen does not necessarily make maintenance more efficient.

For technicians, digitalization can sometimes create a different kind of administrative burden: navigating through multiple screens, searching for information, entering data already available elsewhere or switching between applications to complete a task.

Individually, these interactions may only take seconds. Across hundreds of job cards, several technicians and an entire maintenance visit, they add up. The process may be digital, but the friction remains.

Blue MRO also records the time spent on each task and the technician’s experience as the work is performed. The information entered throughout the maintenance visit therefore becomes part of the maintenance record without creating an additional reporting workload.

At the end of the process, the Work Report is automatically generated from the information recorded during execution. Instead of reconstructing the maintenance history afterwards, the documentation is progressively built as the work happens.
