Meridiana Group Enhances Relationship with navAero for iPad EFB System and Providing DOA Engineering Services

SUNDSVALL, SWEDEN, MARCH 24, 2014 — navAero announced today that Meridiana Group has chosen the navAero iPad Air Class 2 EFB system as the platform of choice for their expansive electronic flight bag initiative. The relationship also includes the creation of a strategic partnership with Meridiana Maintenance S.p.A. DOA (EASA.21J.470) who will provide engineering services for the installation of the EFB systems on the Meridiana fleet as well as for other airline fleets.

Meridiana Group will deploy the navAero iPad Air EFB system fleet-wide which will include the Airbus A320, Boeing B737, B767 and MD-82 aircrafts. First installations are planned for mid-2014.

The highly adaptable navAero iPad “Smart” Mount system with the built-in power/data interface module will be deployed with connectivity to aircraft power for device charging. Optional deployment of the navAero Universal Aircraft Interface Device for certified connectivity to ARINC 429 & 717 data and aircraft discrete will be included in the certifications. The integrated system will allow Meridiana Group to realize maximum functionality of the iPad Air tablet as a mounted Class 2 EFB platform for use in all phases of flight.
