As of April, a new function within the Technical Operations WebSuite manage/m® offers customers the ability to generate their own individual Customer Work Instructions (CWI), while Lufthansa Technik’s MRO IT automatically monitors and schedules the specific maintenance action.
The manage/m® module m/jobcard creates job and task cards for scheduled and non-scheduled maintenance events specific to an individual aircraft and its configuration. A new function within m/jobcard allows customers to generate individually required job cards (Customer Work Instructions) themselves fast and easily with only a few clicks. This becomes important when a customer has specific needs, which are not handled by or included in his contract with Lufthansa Technik and which therefore have to be performed by a third party provider.
Instead of adding a word document to the work packages generated by m/jobcard, customers can use the newly created Customer Work Instruction (CWI), which has been integrated in the application m/jobcard. Here, customers can generate their own work instructions according to aviation authority requirements. The usage is kept as simple and intuitive as possible, since the template looks exactly like a finished job card. This way the customer already has a vision of the final layout when typing in his information.
When filling in the form, all required fields are marked while an auto completion and correction function makes sure all entered data are correct. In addition, customers can transfer the data to the manage/m® scheduling tool, which is responsible for calculating, monitoring and tracking due times of maintenance events. Thereby, the newly entered data of the customer event is automatically taken into account, informing the customer when his required task has to be performed.
Thus, the new Customer Work Instruction is a valuable asset as it enables customers to act independently from the engineering provider, to follow their own tasks within the system, and inform third parties to handle these tasks in time.
