Conscious of the impact of its activities on the environment, Luxair has taken an additional step in its journey towards carbon neutrality by launching a new partnership with StorkJet, which provides a convenient, reliable and precise tool for flight optimisation, to reduce its environmental footprint and promote a greener aviation.

By announcing its cooperation with the Polish company, StorkJet, specialized in aircraft performance and fuel efficiency, Luxair, for whom sustainability is a priority to be achieved, strengthens its development in the most sustainable and efficient spirit. Indeed, thanks to artificial intelligence, StorkJet developed a pool of software able to identify the saving opportunities for airlines, allowing them to optimize their operations. Through its partnership, Luxair chose to optimize both Boeing 737 and Dash 8 fleet with a package including 3 programs: AdvancedAPM, FuelPro and FlyGuide, which will help the airline achieve its support to the promise of “Net-Zero carbon emissions by 2050”, submitted by IATA (International Air Transport Association) in October 2021.

AdvancedAPM is an aircraft performance monitoring tool which will help to encompass the fuel planning policy for each aircraft (including Boeing 737 and Dash 8) and for each flight, by providing key indicators about the fleet performance degradation. In this way, Luxair will not only be able to fly more efficiently, but will also increase the level of safety offered to its customers.

Added to this performance software, Luxair will also use FuelPro, a fuel consumption monitoring tool, that emphasizes several fuel initiatives related to all phases of a flight: flight planning, taxi, take-off, climb, cruise, descent and landing. Thanks to the analysis of all flights performed, Luxair will optimize its operations and dispatch efficiently its fleet of 19 aircrafts, which will soon be completed by two new Boeing 737-8 aircraft to be delivered in first quarter 2026. Meanwhile, as a bride solution, Luxair will temporarily lease from Boeing two other 37-8 which will be operated by its own crews, until the delivery of new aircraft. With FuelPro, Luxair can optimize also flight speeds and altitudes for Dash 8 fleet, which is an innovation offered only by StorkJet.

As part of the next step of the partnership, StorkJet will provide the FlyGuide app, where the pilots will be able to analyze their own flights and highlight the improvement axis for fuel savings. As the first actors directly involved in fuel consumption are the pilots, FlyGuide will help Luxair connect efficiency matters to those who directly master the fuel consumption, thus introducing awareness at the core of the process.
“The future of our company and of aviation rely on our capability to maximize environmental efficiency, dealing with the appearing stakes of our time. Flying in the most responsible mind-set depicts the most important of these new stakes, in which Luxair dedicates the highest means. Alongside StorkJet, Luxair is proud to be a part of a global involvement for a more environmentally friendly future.” said Gilles Feith, Luxair CEO.
“We’re thrilled to work with Luxair to provide our expertise and data-driven insights to optimize their fuel usage and enhance their overall operational efficiency. This partnership is a proof of the effectiveness of our technology and our commitment to creating sustainable solutions for the aviation industry.” said Renata Niedziela, StorkJet CEO.
