Latest contract win with Acumen Aviation highlights Commsoft OASES’ versatility

26th May 2017 – Commsoft is delighted to announce that Acumen Aviation, a global aircraft asset manager based in Ireland, has selected OASES for its new CAMO operation.

OASES is a ‘best of breed’ MRO IT system which delivers the highest level of technical sophistication while still being intuitively easy to operate. Structured in a modular format, OASES is designed to ensure that its growing family of global users can adapt the system to meet their particular needs. Designed by engineers for engineers, OASES has flexibility at its heart.

Acumen has chosen the Core, Airworthiness, Planning and Commercial modules together with an option to add the Materials module at a later date.

Established in 2009, Acumen has offices in India, China and the USA in addition to its headquarters in Ireland. With a permanent staff of over 60 people, Acumen offers a full range of services throughout the lifecycle of any aircraft including aircraft sourcing, pre-purchase inspections (physical and records), project management, lease management and re-marketing, fleet audits, aircraft trading and powerplant management. Its customers include aircraft lessors, airlines, banks, and private equity investors. Since 2015, Acumen has had over 400 aircraft under varying forms of management.

It is anticipated that Commsoft will work closely with Acumen’s team in Dublin, Ireland, to consider new market possibilities. Both parties will explore a potential agency agreement, with Acumen promoting OASES on a non-exclusive basis to its customers and market prospects.

Nick Godwin Commsoft’s Managing Director, was keen to point out that not only does the contract with Acumen represent the second deal with a customer in Ireland, it also represents the eleventh new OASES contract signed in 2017 – covering the aviation engineering activities of fourteen direct customers in twelve different countries. “We look forward to working closely with Acumen to ensure the earliest installation and, going forward, to explore potential interfaces with Acumen’s range of specialist aviation IT solutions, including mobile applications.”

James Flynn Acumen Aviation’s Continuing Airworthiness Manager commenting on the announcement said, “Acumen Aviation CAMO are very excited to commence utilising the OASES airworthiness management platform for its activities. We have been very impressed by the scope and professional presentation of the system and believe it will give us market advantage going forward. The system allows us to comply with our EASA regulatory requirements which was a key deciding factor in the selection process. We intend to offer a suite of CAMO services using the OASES system to our existing client base and new clients going forward. We found the Commsoft team a pleasure to deal with and look forward to a bright future in collaboration with Commsoft”.
