  • JetBlue selects NetLine/Plan, becoming the first U.S. carrier to adopt the solution
  • The advanced network planning tool supports operational agility and data-driven decision-making
  • This partnership expands JetBlue’s use of Lufthansa Systems solutions following the implementation of Lido SkyData

Raunheim, 26th June 2025. Lufthansa Systems announced that JetBlue Airways has selected its network planning solution NetLine/Plan, making JetBlue the first U.S. airline to implement the tool. The carrier chose NetLine/Plan to improve its network optimization efforts in line with its JetForward strategy. The state-of-the-art tool will help JetBlue identify optimal network scenarios in highly competitive market conditions and enhance its operational efficiency. NetLine/Plan is delivered as a cloud-hosted SaaS solution in the Global Aviation Cloud from Lufthansa Systems.

“JetBlue’s commercial evolution requires more streamlined decision-making, quicker evaluations of fast-moving, demanding and complex network scenarios, and seamless integration of those scenarios into operationally optimal outcomes,” said David Jehn, vice president, network planning and airline partnerships at JetBlue. “We believe NetLine/Plan is the best fit for our needs and are excited to work with Lufthansa Systems moving forward.”

Developed in collaboration with many leading network carriers and aircraft manufacturers worldwide, NetLine/Plan solves the toughest network planning challenges: forecasting profitability, improving efficiency, and increasing the network’s footprint. The network planning solution enables airlines to evaluate network planning scenarios with unmatched speed, accuracy, and transparency. While other tools take several minutes or even hours to deliver network planning results, NetLine/Plan can perform a full O&D-based network evaluation in less than 30 seconds, allowing network planners to work more efficiently and evaluate multiple network scenarios. Powered by the most sophisticated proprietary models and data, NetLine/Plan can forecast profitability with the accuracy and consistency that is required in today’s fast-changing airline industry. NetLine/Plan’s flexible views, analyzers, and reports provide the transparency needed for the user to drill down to the most granular level of the analysis and make decisions with confidence.

“NetLine/Plan is known as the fastest tool in the market, used by more than 25 airlines worldwide. After being the market leader in Canada for network planning tools, we are pleased to be expanding our footprint to the first U.S. carrier with JetBlue,” said Genaro Zarazua, CEO Lufthansa Systems Americas. “NetLine/Plan will support JetBlue in evaluating future route scenarios, optimizing schedules, and improving strategic partnership planning – all while ensuring transparency and speed in decision-making.”

This agreement builds on JetBlue’s existing relationship with Lufthansa Systems, which includes the use of Lido SkyData. The addition of NetLine/Plan further strengthens the airline’s digital capabilities in a competitive and fast-changing market.
