Jeppesen Teams With Bytron For Optimized Crew Briefing And Flight Operations

Jeppesen to offer Bytron skybook as its primary crew briefing solution for operators

ENGLEWOOD, COLO., March 31, 2017 – Jeppesen, a Boeing Company, has teamed with Bytron, a leading aviation systems service company, to now offer Jeppesen flight planning data through the Bytron skybook software system. skybook provides a complete crew briefing and flight monitoring solution to maximize operational efficiency for airlines, business aviation and military aviation operators.

“Teaming with Bytron to provide skybook as a key offering in our portfolio enhances the benefits delivered to our customers by better connecting dispatchers with crew,” said Mathew Buettner, director, Jeppesen Flight Planning & Dispatch. “skybook represents a truly integrated approach that brings together market-leading functionality from both companies for the efficient management of flight data, crew briefing and monitoring operations.”

Access to skybook is available through any internet-enabled device, allowing for simple interaction with key flight dispatch and briefing data wherever and whenever is convenient for operators. Jeppesen flight planning customers are encouraged to inquire with Jeppesen about opportunities to upgrade to skybook’s standard Crew Briefing Ground Portal. Additional skybook options for operators include Airfield Watch, Planning Portal, Pack Templates, Operational Notices, a mobile app and Integrated Journey Logs modules, which enhance the base skybook features.

“We are pleased to team with Jeppesen to expand the market reach of skybook, while enhancing the value of crew briefing and monitoring solutions delivered to Jeppesen’s global customer base,” said Shane Spencer, managing director, Bytron. “Operators can rest assured that Bytron and Jeppesen customer support and training teams will work closely together to deliver a seamless, integrated user experience.”

The use of skybook simplifies the volumes of pre-flight information available to flight crews, which is synthesized into a targeted, narrowly-focused route briefing that is easily identified and relevant to the need at-hand. skybook also eliminates commonly-used, paper-based flight briefing materials, to further enhance operational efficiency.
