MIAMI, 4th March 2011 – Flight Focus today announced that it has signed a Letter of Intent (LoI) with Dutch Antilles Express (DAE) to install its enhanced Electronic Flight Bag solution, the Flight Focus PLATFORM, onboard the Airline’s entire fleet.

Flight Focus will implement the Flight Focus PLATFORM, an encompassing solution that will integrate fully with DAE’s Flight Operations, Engineering, Maintenance and Finance Departments’ business processes, and allow ‘always on’ connectivity between their aircraft and ground stations through Iridium Satellite Communications (enhancing operational efficiency and supporting flight safety). Flight Focus will also be working with DAE to implement Cabin Wi-Fi and GSM SMS services to enhance the customer experience in the air.

Flight Focus’s Managing Director, Mr. Ralf Cabos, yesterday said “We are delighted to be working with Dutch Antilles Express – our first customer in the Caribbean, to implement the Flight Focus PLATFORM across their entire fleet of aircraft, and adding value to their operation. We have the complete end-to-end solutions in place to support DAE’s growing fleet of aircraft, and with our regionally based staff and 24/7 support network we look forward to a long and successful relationship. With the global reach and cost benefits of Iridium®, the Flight Crew of DAE will have a real time messaging and alerting system that helps to support proactive decision making processes and maintain excellent on-time performance”.

Dutch Antilles Express President & CEO Mr Arnold Leonora, who was in Miami with Flight Focus to sign the agreement, said “As a fast growing airline in the region, we wanted a proven EFB solution that helps us to streamline our operations, support flight safety, and one that adds value to both DAE and to our customers. With the scalability offered by this system, we can also introduce new features into the cabin that allows our passengers to interact with their family, friends or work colleagues from the air”.
