Cargolux Engages with navAero for Toughpad EFB System

May 18, 2015 Sundsvall, Sweden
— navAero announced today Cargolux Airlines International S.A. has selected the navAero “Smart” Mount Tablet EFB System hardware applicable for the Panasonic Toughpad tablet for deployment on the airline’s 747-400BCF and 747-400ERF fleets. navAero will also be supplying technology and engineering services to fulfill the detailed requirements of the airlines EFB program.

The fully-ruggedized Panasonic Toughpad incorporates MIL-STD-810G standards to withstand a 4-foot drop, all weather dust and water resistance and features a 10.1-inch daylight-readable display with multi touch capabilities…making it an ideal EFB platform. The ToughPad will be deployed in the navAero “Smart” Mount system with the integrated Power Interface module which will be linked to certified connectivity with aircraft power for device charging. The integrated system will allow Cargolux to realize maximum functionality of the Toughpad tablet as a deployed portable EFB device usable in all phases of flight.

Simone Giordano, President, navAero Group, stated: “We are extremely proud to have Cargolux join the ever growing number of commercial airline operators who have made the business decision to embark on an EFB program and have selected navAero as their solutions partner for providing cost effective deployment technologies. The commitment of Cargolux to navAero Tablet EFB solutions is a strong proof point as to the capabilities, range of services and product affordability that our company is delivering today to the commercial aviation marketplace.”
