Shannon Ireland. May, 2011 // Volartec wish to announce the selection of Alkym® Control and Management System for Aircraft Maintenance by Lithuanian based Avion Express.

With the pending introduction of a new A320 into the Avion Express fleet earlier this year they explored the option regarding new maintenance management software to manage their requirements. This extensive and comprehensive process ended with the selection of the Volartec solution Alkym. Avion have opted for a 10 concurrent user licence utilising 8 modules from the available 15.

The implementation project has started now that the first of the A320 aircraft is in operation. Volartec have the project team on site in the Avion Express HQ in Vilnius to ensure a smooth process. The project will take 5 weeks after which the Avion Fleet will be under control using the modules selected.

John Barry, VP Business Development with Volartec commented “The addition of a carrier like Avion Express, after such a detailed search in the market, provides us with yet another example of how Alkym meets the needs of the operator in every detail at a price that is realistic. Our strong customer focused approach is paying dividends since we opened the European office less than 12 months ago.”

Alkym® represents a complete solution to all requirements related to aircraft maintenance. On this occasion Avion selected the following modules: Engineering, Planning, Maintenance Control, Purchasing & Repairs, Inventory, Receiving & Shipping, M-Transfer and M-Files.

Aleksei Lupitski, Managing Director of Avion Express point out that “when it came to selecting software we wanted people that understood the Aviation business as much as the software sector. In Volartec we were very impressed with the pedigree of personnel that we meet with. We could see the system has all the functionality but further we knew the people behind it understood our business. For us this was critical”

Avion Express was established in 2005 and its main purpose was to operate charter and wet lease flights for customers around Europe and beyond if needed.

In 2010 the company was acquired by French investment company Eyjafjoll SAS, formed by Avion Capital Partners of Switzerland along with strategic industry investors. New owner have a long term plan to develop airline as a wet lease specialist.
