Monday 9 September 2019 – Long-standing SITAONAIR customer, Aircalin, is taking significant steps to digitize its day-to-day cabin crew processes and strengthen its commercial offering to passengers by deploying SITAONAIR’s powerful cabin connectivity solutions.

The connected CrewTab solution – which will be deployed across Aircalin’s A330neo and A320neo aircraft – is a powerful yet easy-to-use tablet interface for cabin crew. CrewTab will streamline workflow by optimizing traditional cabin crew processes, unlocking fresh opportunities to benefit both crew and passengers.

By digitizing previously paper-based processes, CrewTab ensures information is easily available and accessible for cabin crews during preparation and briefing, inflight and immediately afterward. This, in turn, reduces any associated delays caused by lost documents or time spent filling in forms and enhances end-to-end cabin crew operations and communication. By integrating with an airline’s air-ground IT systems, CrewTab synchronizes processes, standardizing data flow to make information analytics-ready and easy to assess, leading to smarter working and further cost savings in the future.

The paper and associated weight reduction which occur as a result of the digitization process are dramatically improved, amplifying fuel economy and reducing environmental impact.

CrewTab also encourages enhanced customer service and passenger relationships, by providing cabin crew with essential information regarding passengers’ individual needs, while also granting the ability to anticipate any particular requirements with ease.

Alongside this, SITAONAIR is delivering unprecedented levels of inflight connectivity (IFC) to Aircalin passengers through its bespoke, high-speed, intuitive Wi-Fi portal, Internet ONAIR, over Inmarsat’s GX Aviation. The offering aims to meet fast-changing and increasingly demanding passenger expectations for ‘always on’ connectivity on popular tourist routes including to Japan, Australia, New Zealand, and the Pacific Islands.

Aircalin can now bring its passengers an exceptional level of personalization and interactivity, by customizing the Internet ONAIR portal to reflect the airline’s own branding requirements – delivering a truly innovative and forward-thinking inflight connectivity experience.

Aircalin’s Chief Executive Officer, Didier Tappero, comments on the recent development: “As part of our ongoing relationship with SITAONAIR, the adoption of its connected CrewTab solution and Internet ONAIR portal enables our airline to modernize in synchronicity with the aviation industry. Not only are we saving time and costs, but we’re also providing a more personal and individualized experience for each of our passengers, as well as making a commitment to improved fuel economy.”

David Lavorel, Chief Executive Officer, SITAONAIR adds: “We’re pleased to be continuing on the journey to bringing enhanced operational ability and passenger satisfaction to Aircalin. I believe that through the ever-evolving capabilities of CrewTab and Inmarsat’s GX Aviation, its crews and passengers alike will benefit.”
