APRIL 3, 2012, Sundsvall, Sweden — navAero announced today that it has been selected by Air Arabia to supply the t·Bag™C22 Class 2 Electronic Flight Bag system for the airline’s fleet of A320 aircrafts. The contract is drawn out from a combined technology solution with navAero providing EFB hardware and two strategic partners providing software applications – Lufthansa Systems for electronic charting and Aviobook for the EFB software main framework and other applications. Together, this solution will provide Air Arabia with an advanced, integrated Class 2 platform. The contract covers the airline’s projected fleet of 44 A320 aircrafts.

Dual networked navAero t·BagC22 hardware systems will be installed on the Air Arabia flight deck and will feature the optically enhanced, high-resolution tPad™ 2000 display. The navAero EFB system CPU will be delivered with the Microsoft Windows 7 operating system installed. The navAero EFB system architecture will be deployed via EASA STC 10028447 and will include flexible provisioning for future WiFi connectivity to enable EFB on-ground data transfer to Air Arabia’s ground infrastructure. Retrofit installations of the EFB systems will be executed by Air Arabia’s internal MRO and will begin with deployments onto four aircrafts in the next 90 days. Subsequent installations will involve one to two aircrafts each month until the entire fleet is equipped.

Mr. Adel Ali, Group Chief Executive Officer at Air Arabia stated: “Our decision on an EFB hardware provider was very straight forward and is in line with the airline operational strategy of adopting competitive cost/performance ratio of all the hardware platforms. Jointly with its strategic partners, Air Arabia will realize a highly flexible, cost-efficient flight deck tool that will help the airline achieve its goal of realizing increased operational performance.”

Mr. Simone Giordano, President – navAero Asia, stated: “Our team looks forward to working closely with Air Arabia on the implementation of their EFB initiative. navAero has worked hard over the past several years to establish a strong presence in the Middle East market. This contract with Air Arabia reinforces the positive reception and confidence that Air Arabia and other airlines like Gulf Air have toward navAero EFB technology solutions. We have proved beyond a doubt that our robust and cost-effective solution exceeds the most demanding operational, environmental and ROI standards. We are delighted to add Air Arabia to our roster of customers and we are excited to have the opportunity to help them achieve their vision by providing our EFB solutions now and well into the future as they advance the implementation oftheir EFB program.”
