OSyS signs Fleet Reporting contract renewal with ATR– the world’s largest regional aircraft manufacturer

Derby, UK, June 6th 2012 – ATR (Avions de Transport Régional) and OSyS (Optimized Systems and Solutions) have signed a three-year contract renewal for fleet reporting services that includes increased scope and functionality enhancements.

ATR has been an OSyS customer since 2004. As part of this service, OSyS collates disparate operator in-service information and provides both web-based analytical tools and monthly statistical analyses reports back to ATR, which are then made available by ATR to their customers and suppliers through a website they call AWARE. The information supports marketing, sales, aircraft performance measurement, operational guarantees, warrantees and maintenance activities.

“We are pleased to be extending our contract with OSyS,” said Carmine Orsi, Senior Vice-President Engineering.

“Our customers have found the detailed information about their aircraft very important to their operations; this is information they currently do not track or analyse through any other resource. The value is underscored by the fact that we are now requesting increased frequency of reporting along with new and additional data to be supplied and analysed for the operators. It’s a service that enhances our own customer relationships.”

With the cost of fuel rising ever higher, the economics of operating turboprop aircraft for short hauls and regional networks is quite dramatic over jets. On a typical short route of 300nm (nautical miles) the fuel consumption of an ATR 72 that carries over 70 passengers is roughly half that of a (50-seat) regional jet (1). Worldwide, 55% of regional fleets still comprise turboprops (2). ATR is an industry powerhouse, having captured more than 80% of regional aircraft sales in 2011: 157 sales and 79 options.

OSyS fleet reporting sorts a variety of data and provides sort-able views by such factors as aircraft tails (unique identifiers or registration numbers); components reliability; technical incidents (service interruptions or delays due to what kind of technical issue); and performance benchmarking to compare how carriers or aircraft operate in various conditions.
