Swiss-AS is proud to announce the first US-American customer to join the discerning AMOS customer community: Southern Air. It is expected this will be the first of many after the recent setting up of a USA office through a partnership deal of Swiss-AS and its sister company Lufthansa Systems Americas.

After an extensive software evaluation process Southern Air made the judicious decision to select AMOS as the MRO software solution to manage their M&E activities. The cargo carrier has a substantial growth plan including the addition of further B747 and B777F aircraft in the near future which will also imply a significant increase of the current 700+ workforce, in particular the current 150 MRO system users. In order to meet the demands of this positive growth plan a replacement MRO system was required. The implementation of AMOS will support Southern Air’s strategy and vision to be one of the most successful international cargo airlines in the world.

It is expected that the implementation project takes approx. 10 to 12 months to complete and will culminate with a Go-Live that will see all of the core modules running in the company. Southern Air has already decided to implement the system “as-is” because the system already has the knowledge and know-how over almost 100 customers incorporated into the procedures and processes, there is no point to reinvent the wheel.

The announcement follows only 9 months after the set up of this United States office. “It is a major achievement to win a USA based customer after such a short period of time in the region and I am confident that this is the first of many as we are speaking to many significant companies at the moment here. It is clear that this market was really waiting for a world class state-of-the-art option to manage the complex and critical aircraft maintenance requirements” states Daragh Cunningham, Director of AMOS Americas at Lufthansa Systems.

This office was set up to bring AMOS to the American continent as ithad not been actively marketed there previously. The set up of theoffice shows a real commitment to the region by Swiss-AS and has been paying off already. The arrival of AMOS to this market has been met with great enthusiasm and excitement by the airline and MRObusiness, who welcome a product of this calibre.
