Kuwait Airways takes off with AMOS

  • “As-is” implementation possible thanks to the functional richness of AMOS

AMOS to support the airline’s improvement process
Swiss-AS is pleased to announce that Kuwait Airways, one of the oldest airlines in the Middle East, has selected AMOS as their single software solution to manage the airline’s technical requirements regarding aircraft and components.

When Kuwait Airways researched the market for a new MRO software, they were pursuing two major objectives: On the one hand, the airline was looking for a system capable of further improving their engineering and inventory service levels by implementing a state-of-the-art MRO system to enable a better utilization of in-house resources. On the other hand, Kuwait Airways wanted to prepare for the next phase of their fleet renewal with the arrival of A320neos and A350 in 2019 and concluded that AMOS would provide an optimum support in this process.

After a rigorous evaluation process, the functional richness and advanced technology of AMOS, paired with Swiss-AS experience and a proven track record of successful implementations, convinced Kuwait Airways to select the Swiss M&E software. The national carrier is ready to replace its legacy systems in the M&E sector and adopt AMOS best practice processes. The project team at Kuwait Airways demonstrated full trust in the vast functional scope of AMOS and selected to go for an “as-is” implementation. Swiss-AS has always followed the goal to equip its customers with a powerful and flexible tool that allows the AMOS customers to implement the system without customer-specific software changes. Via hundreds of parameters, customers can easily adjust the community product AMOS to their specific requirements.

“It is a great pleasure to have Kuwait Airways joining the AMOS Community. The high degree of integration of the modules, coupled with best-of-class processes, will surely further strengthen Kuwait Airlines position in the competitive Middle East market,” states Ronald Schaeuffele, CEO of Swiss-AS.

AMOS will replace three legacy systems at Kuwait Airways with historical data of many different aircraft-types reaching back 20 years. This makes the data transfer sub-project a challenging one with due regard to the complexity and criticality of the data migration process.
