New PSIpenta version 8.3 with supply chain management module

Integrated social ERP features improve support and service

Berlin, 2 July 2013 – Production specialist PSIPENTA Software Systems GmbH has launched version 8.3 of its ERP standard onto the market as scheduled on 30 June 2013, offering customers a new supply chain management (SCM) module developed entirely in Java. Integrated social media features help users support their applications.

PSIpenta version 8.3 is all about investing in the newly developed SCM module, which features classic automotive functions such as batch tracing, packaging management or electronic data interchange (EDI). It also facilitates the implementation and harmonisation of standards (EDIFACT, ANSI, Odette, VDA, Gaila) and special processes such as MAIS (GM), BeLOM (BMW) or AMES-T (VW). A graphical interface thus helps users configure specific business processes individually.

The user experience played a key role in the development process. User response was overwhelmingly positive for PSIpenta/SCM even during the test phase.

The new community platform promises a greater exchange between end users and more efficient support processes. From version 8.3, PSIpenta users are given central access to various service, support and communication features by the client. A social media frontend enables system administrators, program specialists and new users to communicate on a professional level with experts in user groups and knowledge forums as well as access the service and tracking systems of PSIPENTA support. The integration platform brings all users and systems together in an expert network.

Dipl.-Ing. Andreas Liebe, head of the PSIpenta user group, Felss Systems GmbH, Königsbach-Stein: ‘There are many active members in our user group who constantly come up with new ideas and suggestions, e.g. on how to improve or optimise processes. The community platform was initiated with PSIPENTA to make sure everyone benefits.'
