Connection Completed

Air Canada is the first customer to connect to Lufthansa Technik via all modules of the eCommerce platform Aeroxchange.

Easy and direct IT access complementing all the customers’ needs - Lufthansa Technik has always been eager to give its customers a wide range of IT systems and interfaces to fulfill their role as an operator.

Lufthansa Technik began connecting to customers using Aeroxchange’s eCommerce platform in May 2014. The suite of solutions includes services for customers with pooling agreements, component MRO processes and material sale.

Founded in July 2000 by a group of airlines worldwide, the US-based company Aeroxchange designed a suite of solutions that specifically supports the aviation industry supply chain. Aeroxchange’s interfaces ensure that all relevant data generated by Lufthansa Technik customers are directly transferred into Lufthansa Technik´s IT system. Customers connected to the Aeroxchange platform now have more flexibility in terms of their material management.

Air Canada is the first TCS Customer to connect to all three of Aeroxchange’s modules: AeroBuy®, AeroRepair® and the new module AeroComponent®. The latter is Aeroxchange’s pool solution managing all component support transactions including: exchanges, advance exchanges, out-of-contract parts - while keeping track of all part requests, contract quantities, shipment information and return of core units. Customers have complete access to their entire pool contract services with an MRO via the e-Commerce platform.

A premiere for all of the involved parties, as Air Canada is the first user to fully automate the component exchange process with Lufthansa Technik leveraging Aeroxchange’s new AeroComponent® module. The LHT MRO business continues to set the industry standard for system to system automation and is the only MRO supplier directly connected to the new AeroComponent® 2.0 module.

The interface went live December 2015 and has been operating on a very stable level. Today, Air Canada places an average of 60 material orders per week to Lufthansa Technik via the newly established connection. Many customers are already interested in this kind of setup and will soon follow suit.
